Heart beating fast,
Pounding drums
in my ears.
My tummy
Alive,
Full of jiggling
Butterflies.
I breathe,
I close my eyes.
The music starts,
The curtain lifts,
The audience shifts;
I bite my lip.
I watch entranced.
Bursting with pride;
Fear and anxiety,
Subside.
I search for a face,
Scan the stage,
Then
A smile I know;
Dancing,
In the spotlight’s glow.

Hi Katie,
I could almost feel the anticipation of a
performance in this poem.
Good read.
Jenny.

Nothing wrong with that.
Nothing wrong with that. And the image that I'm left with is who's face/s did you see in the crowd?
