I want to feel the past in my life
but there's something
in the back of my head
pulling me towards
the frontier of my new life
that I don't want, I reject....
you see I saw a picture of me
I did not want to see
cruelly it was placed in my lap
I jump, hop, I skip
like some bizarre circus act
there is me on a poster
alongside the clowns
and the elephants
I have come to town
sketched, drawn, traced
in bright bold colours
and you have won
as you define me
underlined in black
if you were not metal
I would burn you
with my future
scatter dead ashes
the final act
you see I want to go back..
how will you remember me
will there be two pictures
or have you forgotten,
you see I want to go back..
to one picture in a frame.

What an interesting comment blighters, thank you for your input :)actually there are a couple of bits you could put in a poem - sisterly scowl, camera-friendly smile, there's no rewinding etc just the present, I really like your comment, it's a nice piece of writing in itself, I just realised why, you can sense the feeling it was written with!
