And so sleep tight –
brown-eyed,
scabby-kneed
grandson of mine...
tousled head
chock-a-block
with Santa Claus,
bat-mobiles
and rocket-ships
black holes
and dinosaurs,
Doctor Who
and sherbet dips...
or whatever else
ignites and inspires
that mind of yours.
What I wouldn’t give
to hop onboard
the train you’re on;
go back in time
to that long-lost world...
Maybe decide
I’d stay there a while,
or indeed a lifetime …
but chance would be
a fine thing.

Kahdai...I think all our minds are rather 'chock a block' at the moment...which reminds me I have a turkey waiting to be stuffed;-)and so I am away to the kitchen.
Have a fabulous day, K and thanks for telling me when Dr. Who is on. I shall try not to miss it;-)

Really nice! I don't quite know why this is such good poetry but it is. But you don't need me to point out the obvious.
Silver Spun Sand | January 13, 2011 - 08:33
