The Road

 The Road

Fades slowly toward an endless withdrawal.
Into the wind, where dusk looms and time slows
To a hush. Brace, brace, in fragments vanishing.
Gateway to nowhere. Run, run! Towards this road.
a head while stumbling upon the ruins of ‌yesterday
Daydream, take a moment to contemplate this path.
Skipping stones off driftwood, adrift, wondering how
You get here? And what does it all mean, every step?
Still a place of concurrence. If only there were an end,
Or this turning point? Save your tears, regrets; there now.                                                                             In the silent ocean.
Down this road is a darkness, all-consuming, best laid
plans.
