trance night initiation 6

nighttime  i listen to the beats on the radio 6 tv

trance  falls into place

ta tatate tatate tatate ta

  tatatate tatate taataa

 

 

repeat repeat

 

and the words not always quite the same

they seem the same but   listen close and   smallchange    changes

 

change  changing

 

upstairs in my bed i beat out trance with right han and keft hand

(i am righthanded)

I beat out the beats of trance and

my words come up  likea printout of my mind upon the beating drum the beating heart of

 

trance    and tatatatetum tatatatetumetc

 

'and the right hand says 'slow down and you'll be ok

but what about the left

whats left? whats left

it's not fair

 

and the right hand says slow down and you'll be ok but

what about what's left        not fair  it's not    fair

and in my trance comes up a picture of injustice and

my picture of my initiation into an unjust world an  unfair life

 

and my illustrations are of a young man 200 years ago in London

His name is John Marsh  he is 17 years of age

he is from a family not high not low but

a bit up from the midlle  a  bit up from the middle

 

John Marsh is a Londoner  his family are builders

his family has made money and they have paid for their son John Marsh to study Law

John Marsh is seventeen. He is training to be a barrister

not barista   English Barrister at the Bar

At the Inns of Cout in London  

John Marsh is in London  he is at the Inns of Court  he is near Chancery Lane in High Holborn

 

John Marsh is at his first legal dinner  at the inn of Court

John is seventeen

John is from a religious family  not the top not the bootom

a little above the middle

John Marsh is at hiss first big legal dinner

at the Bar in the Inns of Court

John is new to alcohol

He has never tasted Booze! because he is from a good religious family

 

and

John does not know  alcohol

First time for everything

John Marsh is in room full of men   a room full of older men

the ages of the men go up in stages   in in crements

John Marsh is in the Big Law Hall

  all the Men are dressed up in curly woolly sheeps wigs

 

some of them where tatty coloured parti coloured frock coats

they all have curly sheeps wigs

 

Ooh ducky doo what a bunch of funny men they are

all drunk all the men are very drunk

all the men are stuffed with fancy food the fancy pancy curly wurly piggy wiggly tail pigs!!

 

And they have dressed John Marsh in a big curly wurly wig and a girly whirly frock

 

John Marsh   first time in the big Law Hall!! First time for every thing

Initiation   ceremoney  notty knotty ceremoney

boy becomes Big Man in the big law Hall

 

John Marsh has never had alcohol

the Big Men in the curly wirly coats have filled him with food lots of piggy food and they have

Filled young Joh Marsh with DRINk

JOHN IS PISSED OUT OF HIS NUT

and the Big Law men taunt him now

Sing John sing

Dance john dance

John or joan show us what you've got

tra la la

 And John is drunk and he

is a young law man

drinking in the Inn of Court 

In chancery Lane  Near High Ho born

 

Oh ho ho a penny ot three drops into young noddle

of the newly curly wurly sheep that is John Marsh

 

He sings like a HO

 

Baa baa baa la

woolly wooly sheep

in the pigsty   ten foot deep

Then he falls flat on his arse because  he has never been DRUNK BEFORE!!

Crazy London game of law and money and booze and big men prancing like sheep

 

English justice money

the system   mad game of mixed up moolies

 

And the right hand says 'slow down and you'll be alright

left hand right hand turns and straight roads

It's all a big puzzle a great big muddle
