I'm more than grateful for all the effort Lian's put into reading my stuff. I doubt anyone else would have read it, much, either, if she hadn't drawn attention to it on the top forum. She's also a wonderful writer, and I hope this decision frees her up to do more of it. You're one of the best, missis. May God bless you, and all who sail in you.

As Liana mentioned in an earlier thread, I'll be meeting her in four weeks time so I'll give her a personal donation then. I could re-word that, but I'll give george and flash endless fun to leave it as it is. More worryingly, it strikes me that it is almost two years since we last met. Tell me that isn't true, Liana, tell me I have my dates, and other nutty substances, mixed up? Where is the time going?

This place will not be the same without her. I remember the time she'd gone off to Prague and how the forums seemed to ring like a faulty bell. I also remember writing this when she returned....strangely it was the start of our friendship: Liana’s Cherries (inspired by Cohen, Stipe and Pesnikinja) You feel the recent postings have been suffering a dearth. You rue the lack of poetry, you rue the lack of mirth. And you get this sudden urge to write A spontaneous need to create You think you have a killer line With form borrowed from a mate. You labour long and hard on it, picking words certain care. You read the stanzas out aloud And believe that they scan well You believe that it’s fine poetry, much better than the rest. And you hope that you’ll be cherried ‘cos cherries are the best. But the editors are missing, no one’s reading them at all. They’re off to Camden Market where there’s gonna be a ball. and the folks that have been fighting will pucker up their lips and forgive their nasty postings over amber drinks they’ll sip…..and make up for them. Now Liana has returned from Prague, she says she’ll put things right. And the cherries will be popping And the future will be bright. And you believe it’s fine poetry, much better than the rest.
