That's it, I'm moving
Well, it was reported today that Shell Oil Company has developed a way to get shale oil from the Colorado Green River Basin and expects that they'll be producing within 5 years.
The estimate is that the Green River Basin (beneath my feet) contains well over 1 trillion barrels of oil. The largest such deposit on the planet. They've tried to get to this before but it was too difficult.
The beauty of all this is that we can now become a war zone. This is going to ruin the state. That's it...I'm moving to someplace safe like Afghanistan or Iraq. Either that or I'm going into the oil business.

The leftest-green movement in Colorado is restricted to the Peoples Republic of Boulder and a small pocket or two in Colorado Springs. They're up there now, enacting laws about how bright your porch light can be (no shit.) Afterwards, they're going to open another debate on florinated water and making the peace symbol the official city emblam. First, they have to find a place to park their BMW's so they won't get dented by somebody driving a Ford pickup truck.

Ha! Sounds like Flagstaff. It too has a 'dark skies' policy, which I found quite nice, actually. Flagstaff is 1/4 rich California yuppies, 1/4 old hippies, 1/4 idiotic drunken college students, and 1/4 drunken Injuns. Maybe Boulder and Flagstaff should 'twin'.
