charles, the final indignity

"On Thursday evening, Charles sent a top aide to make a rare televised announcement in which he said the former husband of Princess Diana had done nothing wrong."

This is a quote from Yahoo's report on 'the scandal'.

What is interesting, for me at least, is that Charlie is now referred to as 'the former husband of Princess Diana'.

Whatever else is going on, this must surely be a sign of impending doom for the Windsors.

I fonud it in Italian, or to be completely accurate a very, very poor translation from an Italian newspaper.

And I've now changed my mind. Having just spent the last half hour reading a certain website and all the various links off it, I'm starting to believe that its all true. After all, you know what these boarding school types are like, don't you? One interesting website comments that: 1) An elected head of state (also head of the Church of England) is subject to the same law as its citizens. 2) If they are above the law, any comment about them is above the law as well.

I can't see why Charles is making such a fuss. You are innocent until proven guilty: let it blow over, mate. If his accuser wants to be believed, let him take it to court. All this injunction lark makes much more of a laughing stock of Charles, and makes us resent him more, than the actual matter in hand, so to speak.

This is one of the more surreal press releases I've ever seen. The rumor is untrue, we can't tell you what it is but it's not true. [%sig%]

The scandal is the best thing that could happen to these people... Bring 'em down! No need to take to the streets, just pull up a chair and pop open a beer whilst enjoying the spectacle!

Let's face it, anyone who knows how to use the Internet knows exactly what the "scandal" is. It's not exactly a secret, is it? I quite like Charles. I don't like the royal family or anything they stand for, but I quite like him, and I don't believe a word of it. It is complete and utter codswallop!

Err...so what is the scandal? I won't be picking up my copy of the Mail tomorrow, you see, but I *am* curious.
