YOU PEOPLE ARE AWESOME

I have been reading poetry and stories all day long and will continue into the night.

I have to say that I think there is more talent here than the world could ever comment on.

It will take me a few more thousand hours to get through everything but I will read it all.

There is no way I could come to this forum and do individual commenting. I have to bathe and eat sometimes, people.

When the commenting and rating ability is up and running I will get to each of you as I read your poems.

I am in awe of the ability here on this site. I just thought you people should know that. You should be told everyday just how awesome you are.

My best to each and every one of you. I know I am going to learn a lot here just from reading.

Sincerely,
Rita

hey- welcome :) been reading your stuff too, like your humour poems. it is true, reading the work on this site is so very educational (not the right word...um...) -it teaches one a lot, as you have said. I know it has greatly improved my writing to be able to read such excellent work and pick up tips. and guess what? you being here makes you pretty awesome as well, you have uploaded so much work and that teaches other people too, so it's all a huge circle of..um...writing, really (fly in that logic ointment, there) anyway what i really meant to say is it's wonderful that you are enjoying the site (I certainly do, just as much.) the best thing is that you voice that enjoyment, we should all do that more often, because the talent on this site IS exceptional. *skips away waving fairy wand in a demented fashion* haha [%sig%]

I agree. Often the stuff I read on here is better than the stuff I am actually reading in published books. Some people do diary entries to a high standard: I'd recommend Allen Banks (I think he calls himself "Jab" on here) and Sooz Simpson, because they update so often that you can follow their lives. And the difference between reading about their lives and reading the published diaries of literary types (apart from the fact that they unfold in the here and now) is that they lead real lives not poncey ones. If you like stories, try Marc Barber: possibly very English, but in my opinion cast-ironically publishable; also Drew Gummerson, who already has an excellent novel out, and who has a sweet clean style (not necessarily clean content, of course, being Drew). There are many more wonderful writers. Perhaps other abcers can make some recommendations. (I'm not a great reader or judge of poetry, so I've left out mention of it.) d.beswetherick.

D. Beswetherick is being modest here, he's a very good writer indeed. You can select the "Cherry Picked tales" to see whose work tends to impress the site editors, which the above-mentioned writers do pretty often. I certainly wouldn't consider Drew's work "graphically filthy" but unlike some sites (especially American ones) explicit sex isn't censored; the author is expected to give it an 18-certificate though.
