Funk Berlin - L Doolan
had a bit of a beat feel to it but without the (usually)
concomitant blues.
life-enhancing, novel and thoroughly enjoyable.
excellent pick of the day, Andrew.
too right Chant....really enjoyed it....in a lipsmackingthirstquenching kind of way...
I liked this one a lot. I should. Thompson, Wolfe, Burroughs, even Kerouac and Lord Buckeley from time to time, are among my favorites. Nice job.
At the risk of putting too fine a point on it, I find Hunter Thompson very lucid indeed.
Right up my street.
Well done
Ralph
That's just your world-view Justyn. No, I see what you mean. What I meant was, Hunter S Thompson without writing about drugs (or at least not writing about being on drugs)
Try Lita's "Death by Materialism" or actually any of her stuff. Very fine.
And Chant - how did you know it was my pick ? Just because there was a reference to Ruud van Nistlerooy and classic American short stories... no lyrics though.
