Barb Jungr – Love Me Tender
16th April 8pm at the UCL Bloomsbury Theatre
Barb Jungr is widely regarded as Britain’s foremost chansonnier and cabaret artist. In her blend of jazz, European cabaret and humour she is unique.
Some of the greatest song writing talents of the 50s, 60s and 70s wrote for the legendary Elvis Presley. Barb Jungr has deconstructed some of his most famous songs, as well as some of his lesser known and gospel songs and embarks on a journey through love, obsession and faith with her new show Love Me Tender.
Accompanied live by acclaimed pianist Adrian York, Jungr draws from the eclectic repertoire of Elvis Presley, including favourites such as Kentucky Rain and Wooden Heart as well as the Bob Dylan material that Presley sang, together with an original track by Jungr and York, Looking for Elvis.
