I really like the message this conveys about how our culture encourages individuality and a follow your dreams mentality yet at the same time calls for collective actions for the greater good of society. Can the two ideologies co-exist or does the 'we' get sacrificed for the 'I'.

the eternal question... here, for me at least, it means the conflict between our need for individual recognition and our drive towards collectivity, be it in family groups or in a wider society. it's something that i keep coming back to. but you could interpret it in any number of ways, and that's kind of what i like, that the eternal question can also be different for every reader. and thanks, glad you both got something out of this.
