Any ideas?
Any news on when abc will finally be in full working order? I'm afraid being an impatient b'stard I have endeavoured to improve myself and follow the fine examples set by fellow talesters' and have been chanting and eating cabbage and trying to focus on the singularity of infinite space and time...but this hasn't helped. My patience has finally filed for divorce and is taking the dog.
Any ideas when this great edifice will be working and the remnants of my tattered sanity can find a lonely corner to curl up in?

no, do you ever read the gen diss forum?
latest meanderings are here
but there are many other threads on the subject.
if you eat cabbage, I'm not surprised patience took the dog.
Tollam - most of the glitches are fixed. What is your problem? Let me know and I will find a solution.
If it is that you cannot log in then you are using an old browser. A solution of this will come up later today but you will not be able to use the new 'richtext' editor. May I suggest that you upgrade your browser to Outlook 6.0 - it's free. All the details are on the Microsoft site.
Why when you have your set open, do the edit/delete links cover the end of the story titles? Why is the text overlaying itself?
I'm sure this was mentioned somewhere else but I couldn't find it . Why can't I submit a body of text, apart from sticking it all in the descripton slot? I can't find anywhere else to put it. If it's to do with the browser I'm using, there's going to be a problem. I can't seem to upgrade IE because my computer is now considered old. I'm saving up to get a better one but it's going to take time ..............
Dear Freda, we all seem to be in the same boat. I cannot update to IE version 6 because I have Windows 95.
What I can't understand is something that Tony said in reply to Tollam.
He mentioned that if one could not log in it was due to the fact he was using an old browser.
Well, I can log in, go into Manage Stories, create a new tale and that is as far as I am allowed to go. The edit facility cannot be accessed.
So is it all due to the old browser? So if this is the case it's goodbye from me and I guess many other.

I don't think the problems you and freda have luigi are browser related at all. My old pc has IE5 and I used it last night to load a test piece into the 'richtext editor'
I use IE6, Aol8, and all sorts of other latest stuff on this pc and the site/work still looks bad.
Anyway, try this: Once you have pressed 'create this tale' you have to return to 'manage my stories' ... at the bottom of the page you should find your new title.
click 'edit' and the text editor should appear. after you have pasted in your text click 'save as draft' to see what it looks like and 'save' if you want it to be posted onto the site.
if you want to put it into a particular set you have to click 'edit' on the set title and work out what to do from there.
that's how i first did it anyway but last night, after i clicked 'create this tale' the editor box came up straight away. wierd. and, as I said, that was using an old pc with IE5 and a dial up aol (pay for!) connection. (useless info add-on ... I couldn't transfer a piece from one pc to the other last night for reasons too many to explain)
Good luck!
(mind you, if you write poetry it will look crap if any line exceeds 40 or so characters)
I cant seem to allocate stories to an existing set. Or to any set. It just ends up as 'miscellaneous' How do you do it? The button seems to have gone.
