aesthetica..is it spam?

i dunno. but they keep posting this stuff everywhere.

they never seem to have any connection with anything.

other than promoting their own output.

i'd call that spam..it doesn't matter if the "product" is art.

the posts they put on here, for instance.

no personal comment, no human touch. no reason to reply. so they don't get replies, they just sit there promoting. not much good in a discussion group.

i dunno. maybe i'm just a tetchy old sod. but i don't like it.

Aesthetica is not spam. We are working hard to make it known. If you have any suggestions on how we can 'spread the word' or any ideas we would be happy for your suggestions. It is difficult when you are small and you don't have a budget. We're tying to do new things with arts and music. What's wrong with an information post? Some people may be interested. Sorry if it has bothered you or anyone else in the forum, that is not our intention.

No. Useful information and of relevance to much of what is discussed here.

Faithless Look, we don't want to cause you any discomfort. Somehow your email address got on to our mailing list by mistake. I will gladly take you off the mailing list, just let me know what your email address is. If anyone else receives emails from Aesthetica and you would not like to, simply email us and we'll remove you. No problem. Sorry for your troubles.

that's rather a pitiful response. "discomfort" as if...that's the lamest little sarcasm i've seen for ages... "by mistake" ...perhaps i don't match your criteria as an audience, having a critical capacity of some kind. "sorry for your troubles"...why bother? why the **** bother? don't be such a drippy asswipe. aesthetica. the magazine/cd/tea towel rack you never knew you wanted...

Well, I hate to burst anyone's bubble but you've all got it wrong. I happen to have a can of Spam in my very hands. It's nothing like what's being described here. It's more of a meat-like substance with some sort of white semi-transparent jell coatiing it. I've discovered that when sliced and put on bread that is thoroughly soaked with ketchup, it tastes something like , like... like.... I dunno... a meat-like ketchup sandwitch. But, it's not anything like what you're all talking about I assure you.

Rad, wondered when someone was going to come up with that one I did think of it and was actually going to do it myself but now glad I didn't as you put it so much better except I would have left out the ketchup as I can't stand the stuff more a mustard or pickle person myself and I consider its nice for us to all have our own little ways helps to make the world go round though how I don't really know think it must be time for some shut eye but not before I eat my blackberry and raspberry muller yogurt and dip in my two large digestive biscuits while playing my card game crazy eights with my elderly computer friend Ethel who does her knitting at the same time and often scratch'es her head with the end of one of her needles this is a ritual every night for me same! person + game +same flavour yogurt and biscuits + glass of ice cold water, have been doing this for ages now it relax's me completely and I must say I am utterly adddicted. Sad case or what...

We're trying to apologise to you and take you off of our mailing list. You are very rude and there is no need for it.

Ignore the f.ucker, Cherie. He's come on, ostensibly to ask 'is it spam?' only to make it clear that all he's not interested in other people's views - only his own ("well its spam"). He then, somewhat hilariously, mistakes his stubborn twatishness for a 'critical capacity'. There's no point in further interaction with him.

Dear Aesthetica, This is a sincere plea for you to please keep sending me more spam. I hope you'll understand my reasons for this request ..as you will probably appreciate, and like many people.. I find my email inbox constantly filling up with emails from various dodgy people masquerading as friends, family members and various acquaintances that I have met along the way. As you can imagine this is despicable behaviour and god knows what these types want.. many of these mails seem quite sincere.. some mention various pieces of information about their lives and the odd question they need to put to me from time time. As you can imagine.. it is becoming all too much for me and my only response at this time is to ask you to please, please, please stop not sending me spam!.. I might very well have a breakdown if these people persist in contacting me. My need for exciting sales pitches and other exciting opportunities has now reached such a critical level that an immediate response would be more than favourable. Yours Sincerely Andrew O'Donnell. OOO! Is this the intelligent, mild-mannered, intellectual genius from UKA I see being abusive? I wonder if he would dare leave that post on a UKA thread. More importantly, I wonder if the thought police would let it stand!

Don't use phrases you don't understand, Missi. And stop trying to be a vigilante.

You wouldn't know what I understand, partly because you're always too busy looking at your own reflection to notice, and partly because you have very little understanding of the human condition. I was merely pointing out that you have at last shown you are no different to the very things you claimed to despise, and tried desperately to rid the site of. You have become your most feared nightmare. It must be very hard for a kid like you to come to terms with the grown-up world. I often wonder if you'll ever make it. Never mind you can always crawl back to where you feel at home and slumber with your comfort blanket. I'm sure someone will tell you how wonderful you are.

There's only one person here eager to proclaim how much he despises things. The same person who wants control over what is and isn't said in these forums. The same person who hasn't the meerest shred of consistency in any of his arguments - who's in favour of whatever suits him, and against anything that gets in his way. And that's you, sunshine. Now, you could have demonstrated that you *do* understand the idea of thought police, and actually shown me up. Instead we get two classic Missi cliches: the one about not 'understanding' you (because your motives are oh-so-deep and complex!) And the one about this imaginary 'grown-up world' of yours (although you usually call it the 'real world') - this funny little astral plane that only *you* live on. Fact is, I'm more in touch with this 'real/grown-up world' than you, because I'm actually aware of other people's take on things. You live in a world where everything that isn't in complete agreement with you gets roundly dismissed and shat on. Another fact is, you don't even know anything about yourself, let alone anyone else. So it's no wonder I don't understand you, is it, hotshot?

Spams offer penis enlarging wonder drugs and weight loss cures (or is that just me that's been targetted? Fie!) Aesthetica does none of this, unless the editor is planning something unprecedented in publishing [%sig%]

And Spam also informs you of massive lottery wins and the chance of a delightful liason with Brandy from Delaware, whose friend has set you up on a blind date.

You don't understand me or anyone else in any depth because your a conceited , narcisstic little turd. But keep on replying, you're about the only entertainment here at the moment.

I don't understand you because you're living proof that some people never grow out of the early stage of adolescence. Hence you thinking people don't like you because they don't 'understand' you, rather than accepting you're an arrogant and deeply pathetic little twat who never grew up. The fact that you stand up for your buddy Faithless when he's behaving equally childishly only cements that reputation. Now, get off my back, boy.

hahahahaha you horrible little twerp. I wasn't defending martin, he can do that for himself. I was pointing out what a little shit YOU are. I also don't think people dislike me for any reason. Like everyone else, I am liked by some and disliked by others. I actually take great comfort from YOUR dislike, it proves I must be doing something right. Is it boring on uka again today? I've heard the shoutbox is reminiscent of playschool these days.

Hahahaha! Why, you wretch! You beastly man! Ironically, your efforts to 'point out' (ha ha!) what a little shit *I* am only show up what a little shit YOU are. This is like pantomime, eh? I'm not on UKA at the mo because my mental efforts are being directed towards my writing, and interaction there requires a level of concentration. I might get distracted by a thoughtful or cutting remark. No danger of that round here. Be honest with people, Missi. Be honest with yourself. Then maybe, you'll find people will start to 'understand' you, eh? It's not so hard when you try.

As I've told you before, there is absolutely nothing I could learn from you, except perhaps how to make a fool of myself. You have no opinions or views that are of the slightest importance to me, I just goad you because you are good fun. You hurt my feelings calling me beastly, by the way.
Hen

You surely don't need to learn how to make a fool of yourself! And of course I have no opinions or views that are of the slightest importance to you - the only opinions and views that come into that category are your own! Sorry about the 'beastly'. That was, indeed, going too far.

Last time i heard someone being called beastly was on 'Upstairs Downstairs,' or something similar, what's next rotter, scoundrel, cad, or boundah.....pistols at dawn? I'm back off to the UKA Shoutbox ....they've put some fresh new sand in the pit. Missi you mean there was a time when the shoutbox wasn't playground...it's just that Pioden has always played in there since i've been a member.

Well I actually believe that playschool is more adult on the whole, but it keeps the children happy. Those words come right out of 'Tom Brown's Schooldays' don't they? Mind you he IS still a schoolboy, even if he does wear long trousers now.

Love to answer this at length, but I'm just nipping off to Nigeria where the son of the late president is going to cut me in on some unused Government funds. Don't worry, I'll mail you all some spyware to keep an eye on you whilst I'm gone.

Talk about coincidences!.. you join me whilst having a pre-meeting drink in the lobby of the Hotel Del Costa, Manila.. where, at any moment, I am to meet the wife of the former president!! It cost me quite a bit to get here(apparently the travel expenses will all be paid back in impendorial royalty coupons, which sounds exciting) If all goes to plan I will be flown out to Hawaii next week.. where the former president is currently exiled, have a five star meal with him.. then all I have to do is give him three grand in barrow bonds (his wife tells me she knows where I can pick these 'barrows', as she calls them, up cheap) and he'll then quadrify my money in one month. Never had it so good!! (But no.. if Aesthetica is spam.. then it is the loveliest spam I've come across) [%sig%]

I was under the impression that 'spam' is unsolicited email. Has anyone received any from Aesthetica? Posting on a forum doesn't clog anyones mailbox and it's easy to ignore, a bit like me really.

Am sorry to say guys... after some deep probing I have come to conclude that these emails are quite likely scams... even the sincere plea for help from Mrs Amina Idi Amin Dada (wife of the ex Ugandan Dictator), sitting in my inbox. Here is a cunning plan... spam them back by forwarding the Aesthica message to their email addresses.... that'll teach em!

Gerry, the WORST thing you can do is reply to this crap. It just confirms your email addy and encourages more of the same.
