Crisis At The Baghdad Corral

“Sheriff! Send out Sad Man and we won’t burn down the jail!” shouted Big George.
“Now come on Big G you know I can’t do that - the trial will be over in a few days and you can have him then.”
“We’ve waited long enough Doc and we ain’t waiting any longer!”
“But some of his family are visiting and they have a few guns with them - I couldn’t get him out just now if I wanted!”
“Well tell them to throw their guns out and we’ll come in and have a nice little party.”
“Now Tony you tell your brother that he’s talking crazy” said Doc.
“Lets leave it to the judge George” said Little Tony “we don’t want any trouble with the law!”
“I’m the law around here and don’t any of you chicken, lily-livered varmints ever forget that.” said George.
“Now hurry up and get those guns thrown out before we set fire to the place.”
The sheriff - Doc - goes in to talk to his prisoner.
Meanwhile Tony says “We don’t want to do that George, or it might burn the town down and we’d lose all the money, besides he’s got some women in there with him and burning them will make us mighty unpopular!”
“Who pays most of the wages in this town, who has the most hired guns?” sneered Big B. "They might grumble a bit but nobody dare stand up to me - for long." He laughed.
“But were running out of money fast and if we don’t get hold of Sad Man’s cash were really in trouble.
“You worry too much Tony, god’s on our side because we’ve got all the big guns!!!”
They both laughed and waited for the guns to be thrown out.

The Sadman is holed up in his bank with his family while the lynch mob howls outside. The town sheriff an ageing man, better known for his rhetoric than his gun play, is also inside while Doc is stood at the entrance trying to mediate. Sheriff! Otherwise, we burn the place down!” “Now Tony you tell your brother that he’s talking crazy” said Doc. “Lets leave it to the judge George” said Little Tony “we don’t want any trouble with the law!” “I’m the law around here and don’t any of you chicken-hearted, lily-livered varmints ever forget that.” said George. “Now hurry up and get them guns thrown out before we set fire to the place, Doc!” Doc goes in to talk to the sheriff and his prisoner. Meanwhile Tony says “We don’t want to set fire to the bank George, or it might burn down and take half the town with it and we’d lose all the money. Besides he’s got some women and kids in there with him and burning them will make us mighty unpopular!” “Who pays all the wages around here? Who has all the hired guns?” sneered Big G. "They might grumble a bit but nobody dare stand up to me - for long."
