Come on ABCtales, it's high time Jesse was awarded Writer of the Week. Without a shadow of a doubt he has to be one of the best writers on this site. With Jesse there's no trying to prove how many long, descriptive words he knows, or what he's learned on any writing course, just straight-forward story telling. And what stories!

Jesse's stories hold your attention. More than that, he somehow has the abilty to draw you into a story, to become part of it, to believe in it, to live it for those few moments. A great writer who is long overdue.

We've had some great writers of the week, and Jesse deserves to stand with all of them.

For those of you who haven't read the works of Jesse Clifford, I have only one thing to say - Pick any story in any set and start reading. You'll be hooked.

Jesse is absolutely one of the better writers on this site. I posted a few words about his story "Dad's Addiction" back before Christmas, and I must say that story is still with me. It concerns a father's early days in recovery from alcoholism, as told from the perspective of his young son. It is by far the most convincing and subtle description of that subject matter I have ever read.

Read his "A Cry in the Night" for a story that really touches you. Reading my comments above, it may come across that Jesse has a limited vocabulary. Far from it. All writers would enjoy his poem "Writer of Words", which surely deserves to be picked as Poem of the Day. All should have a look at "Writer of Words" immediately.
