Hasn't he just. Mike has some good strong pieces. I particularly like 'Owen'. I think it's really focused and deals with one shade of maturity really well - niavety + reality = cynicism. Inherent in British lit - thank god - and to quote "Looking in from the outside, the business world appeared attractive to him. What he saw on the surface was the smooth haunch of expensive cars, the warm suits, leather bound lunch appointments and glassy glowing offices. All the ruby brake lights snaking off through the rain, all going somewhere nice, all content after a full day of it. These people were in the thick of it, they owned it, they had a handle on it. He didn’t see the ten hours of pointless drudgery, day in, day out. You don’t see that one coming.."
