Gilbert &; George Kebab Fiasco...
Dear All
I had my leaving do last night; we went to this smashing Turkish gaff in Dalston.
Anyway, eating at the table next to us was Gilbert & George, the very famous artists who specialise in making pictures out of poo. I don’t really care for them myself but understand their importance to modern and progressive art. This was not a swish gaff by any means and the sight of them both tucking into donor kebabs (chilli sauce sir?) with great gusto was rather amusing. They were wearing identical suits of course and looking slightly hot around the forehead.
Have you seen anyone remotely famous in an unexpected place?
Ralph
Yes, yesterday was a fine example of the English summer time, I think. Come visit Cambridge, and be soaked to the skin! Risk electrocution because the lift has sprung a leak! Enjoy the powercuts, and having to lug skips full of books up three flights of stairs. I can tell already I'm going to have an ace week, no really.
Ice
You got the place right, its called Mangal and is in Arcola Street. You have to take your own booze. Excellent food.
Ice: are you an Essex lad by any chance. I have a sneaky feeling that we have met befire.
Ralph
Ralph: yeah, down from Southend way. Do you know Dave? Used to have my old scooter HCF 30E? Played in "Number Six" around 80/81.
Never heard of Gilbert and George. I lead a very sheltered life.
I met Martha Stewart a couple years ago. We had a nice chat. I think it might be more difficult now, what with her "stock market" troubles.
*suspects few people in UK know who Martha Stewart is*
I ain't heard of these bozos either - sounds like their artform is choice is shocking people though, rather than anything remotely relevant to the art of, well, art. Is art the art of art, or the art of imagery? How silly it is having a word that is a subcategory of itself.
Gilbert and George eat at the same place everyday, a greasy spoon in Shoreditch...I think they have the same meal as well...so I have seen them wandering around shoreditch...
I bet their pictures are s.hit!
George is the C.unt and Gilbert is the S.hit, if my memory serves me well. Anyway, they're not as @!#$ as Chris Ofili.
S.hit... missed out the f.ull s.top.
At least they were eating doners and not shi.t kebabs.
bloody keyboard ... that should be shish.
Sorry to correct you, Storms, but apparently they were eating donors.
Scary.

Full stops for Eddie.
Well I've got plenty and I'm always willing to s.h.a.r.e.
Ralph: I've eaten in that Turkish gaff, its fecking brill. There's no menu but the food is first rate. Its off the mian strip about thirty yards down the road on the right, you go inside and wait for a table to come free, or you can sit by the pit of hell and get your eyebrows burnt off.
My brother's manor that, I must go up soon and see him.

ta, missi.
m.uch a.ppreciated.
very scary, edgy.
We had always thought great aunt Agnes had run of with with a paramedic when she failed to return from a blood giving session last year.
seems that she might not have had her digestive and tea after all.
sheesh!
We saw Dina Carrol in wh smiths last week! She was buying computer paper. And someone saw Jade of Big Brother fame wandering around Cambridge today.
i've been to mangal....great place...never seen g & g there....might put me off the quail...
i like them , G & G. In fact I love them!
THEY are their own works of art.
God bless 'em.
I was in cambridge today but became jaded by the perpetual thunderstorm and rain.
