The Church of Vengeance by fisher

When I first read this I decided against a cherry - it wasn't that original, the writing was clunky, it didn't really hit the spot.

But it stuck with me. It needs improving but it's worth a read now:

I read this and was vey surprised at how powerful it was. Very honest work.

Inadvertant Correct Collective Nouns.

Jonathan Pearce commenting on Man. City v Portsmouth: "Reyna fires through a 'thick' of players." He he. I've just replayed it, and he does say that.

Soraia Almeida! Genius?

Well this comes from a grizzled 58yr old cynical, world weary, jaded, emotionally bankrupt and in need of a personality by-pass male; who, in all the years of psycho-analysis, therapy, counselling etc. never shed a tear: and all it took was a few lines of a poem from Soraia. Whoo! ABCtales I think you've got a genius on your hands. I love the 'clipped' style of writing. Brilliant! I'd love to write more but I have to go and watch/listen to Katie Melua at Kenwood on Hampstead Heath. It'll be a bit of a comedown from 'our' Soraia, but you know, you have to suffer in the name of art.

Common Sense?

If Jonathan Swift made you laugh then maybe John Horgan will... at least he will help you realise that most science fiction is generally much more likely than many current scientific theories.

The Big Gay Read

http://www.biggayread.com

The Big Gay Read (link above) was launched yesterday to find the nation's favourite gay / lesbian book.

My book, The Lodger, is listed in the 'Further Reading' section - along with many others. It was nice to be mentioned.

(Some reviews of The Lodger here http://freespace.virgin.net/d.gummerson/review.html on my website if anyone is interested.)

And you can vote for your favourite gay book now or over the coming months.

contact details

Hey all. Have missed being on here so regularly since leaving job and all... anyone who has been emailing me at my council email will have had no success, so go back to hotmail where I still can be found, if only for half an hour a few times a week.

All change on the fergal front. I may well be moving to the big city (that's London, not Ipswich) in the not so distant future.

There is some brilliant stuff on here at the moment, and the new site is brill. I hope to be on here more regularly very soon, and have a big reading session.
