My mate Andy Rat still goes to see films. I think it’s so he doesn’t need to talk to his partner. But you can do that just as well—maybe even better, if you skive off to write stuff—in the upstairs cuboard. Oppenheimer is one of those films I quite fancied. Rat had seen it and Barbie, which came out the same week. He said Oppenheimer ‘was alright’. But he liked Barbie.

I’m not the kind of guy that would admit to having seen Barbie. Every guy likes Barbie. Fuck sake. She’s blonde and beautiful. Having spent two-and-a-half hours watching Oppenheimer, I think I like Barbie better too.

Oppenheimer reads a verse from the Hindu scripture Bhagavad Gita, ‘I am become Death, destroyer of worlds’.

The current shift to qubits is being driven by the same geopolitical forces that drove the race for the atomic bomb. Pursuit of strategic advantage, massive state investment, secrecy, and the belief that whoever wins the technological race will shape the future of global power—rightly so.

quantum technology needs ‘critical’ minerals. China dominates supply chains and access. U.S. strategy under the moron’s moron Trump treats places like Greenland and Ukraine as pieces on U.S. colonial chessboard.

Ten septillion is the number 1 followed by 25 zeros. To put this gargantuan span of time into perspective, the entire universe is estimated to be approximately 13.8 billion years old. Ten septillion years is roughly 725 trillion times longer than the current age of the universe.

average life expectancy of 80 years, ten septillion years would encompass approximately 125 sextillion (125,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) lifetimes. This scale illustrates the quantum advantage demonstrated by processors like Google's Willow, which can solve in under five minutes a problem that would be mathematically impossible for classical supercomputers to finish within any timeframe relevant to human or cosmic existence that doesn’t include god or Barbie.
