POETRY MONTHLY

Poetry Monthly – October

Hello all and hope your transition between summer and autumn is a peaceful one.

Last month’s theme was Back and it produced some marvellous writing.  Here are three to go back to (I’ll avoid saying, see what I did there, as that would be awful):

So, on to October – I read in The Guardian last week an article about a book on how to tidy called, ‘The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organising’, by Marie Kondo.  One of her ideas is that we should give thanks to sentimental items for the role they’ve played in our lives and bid them farewell if they’re cluttering our homes and stopping us caring for the more recent items in our life.

Not sure I agree, but it’s an interesting idea, so the theme this month is: Sincere thanks and farewell to sentimental items.

Do exactly what you want with the theme, as usual, and enjoy writing in the dark days of autumn.  I look forward to reading your poems on ABCtales.
