STORY AND POEM OF THE MONTH

For January, very kindly chosen by Fatboy74:

I think January is a Marmite month. For many it's the time for a fresh start, new beginnings and a chance to wipe the slate clean. For others, January's one redeeming feature, is that it's not quite as bad as November, which is universally accepted as being the worst month of the year. Whatever your feelings about January, ABCtalers have been prolific and have produced an awful lot of excellent writing.

Story of the month goes to celticman's skull. I can't say enough good things about it. If you've not read it yet, you're in for a treat.

It was an extremely strong month in this category and an honourable mention must go to these fantastic stories:

Poem of the month is the-real-jaw's Rise and Fall of the One-Man Empire. It's packed with one memorable line after another - a briliant poem.

All the very best for your writing in February and the for the rest of the year. If you need any extra inspiration, or find that incessant inclement weather is stifling your creative flow,  I've included a link to a fantastic poem by Margaret Atwood that might provide a brief distraction and/or help you on your way.
