Week - 19

Summer Solstice!

I don’t know why I take an interest in the Solstice. I’m not a practicing Druid or anything. Yet the movement of the planet in its steady, majestic procession around the sun evokes a feeling of reverence and awe within me. The Solstice coincides with my birth month and often causes me to ponder the very temporary nature of my existence as seen in opposition to the near eternity of the seasons. The Solstice marks a finite point in space and time, an exact and fleeting moment never to be repeated. Yet a continuity between past and future reaches endlessly out in both directions. There is no obvious middle to be found! No point on the line of time where one can definitively state, this is halfway between the beginning of time and the end of the universe. So while I can not state that the universe has exceeded the halfway mark in its existence, it’s become fairly obvious that I have. 

I can imagine myself joining with the ancient ancestors, climbing the high hill, standing erect, facing the eastern horizon, allowing the warmth of the risen sun to caress my sky clad flesh! Looking out into the future, not only mine but all the futures to come after me and letting my shadow reach out behind me into the past! I raise my shield and spear over my head and let out a defiant shout, “I AM HERE!”

It’s been a quiet week here in Lake Cashbegone! Not much movement, another slight decline overall. The top of the list looks to be solidifying with 6 positions now showing no change in rank. High Tide made a run up this week with a very nice gain. Another strong week could see an overtake of the first spot if Mind Medicine slips again. Medical Cannabis Payment Solutions (REFG) was the only real tumble this week. As is usual with this class of investment, there is no news to inform as to the possible cause of this stumble. CYIOS Corp. (CYIO) is primarily a crypto-currency player and made a jump late in the week. Rising from 17 cents a share to just over 21 cents on Friday, they fell back to a little over 0.19 by the close of the market. I read one of their news releases from earlier in the month and must admit, I didn’t understand a word of it. All I can say is, crypto is a weird, weird world. The kids seem to love it though. I don’t know if it will replace rock-n-roll but time will tell!
