I’m an Eagles Fan!

If you know what that means, no explanation is needed. If you don’t, none may suffice to adequately explain. I watched the only Superbowl win for “My” team, went to the parade in the city afterwards, got literally crushed by the co-attending throngs and enjoyed the experience for what it was or may be. If this is to be the only Superbowl Championship of my lifetime, I’m glad I took the time to enjoy it! The wife and I moved into a twin home many years ago. Folks next door confided later, they thought we were a nice couple but were concerned to overhear my loud voice and angry outbursts! Perhaps I was being abusive towards my wife? They were concerned until realizing my outbursts always occurred on Sunday afternoons in the Fall..

Yes, I’m that guy! I would prefer to be at the game in person so I can join forty thousand others in yelling encouragement or vitriol at a bunch of guys who can’t really make out what I’m saying but probably get the general drift. However tickets and parking are expensive and the beer is cheaper at home. So most games find me bouncing about my living room with the radio play by play loudly on the surround sound system, (again if you know, you know) yelling at a bunch of guys who still can’t hear me while wearing the logoed hat, jersey, and socks of The Philadelphia E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES!! (we have a song). I find it, mmm… cleansing? Too strong? It’s a good safe way to vent some natural aggression. Everyone has them, that occasional urge to rip the head off someone who desperately needs a good old fashioned decapitation. I keep it real, it’s just some weekend fun. There are studies which confirm small but statistically significant changes in things like heart attacks and self harm following a loss by a local team. I’m not >That< guy..

The past year has had a few unpleasant bumps in it from a number of perspectives. A virulent plague threatened to consume the planet, the global economy ground to a halt, life itself took on an aura of inanimate suspension. Nature herself has attacked with fires, insects and storms! If all that were not enough.. Our head coach got fired, our defensive coach retired, the quarterback quit, and the two guys who own and run the team seem hell bent on running this once proud and feared franchise into the ground one disastrous draft pick at a time!

__________________________

Tying this in to the main subject, I have a predisposition to being a “Fan”. My devotion to the Eagles has always been unshakeable! Over time most Eagles fans have learned to deal with disappointment more often than triumph. This forms a certain resilience of character if you will.

This is more like golf, more choices among the players. Still, I find myself rooting for the underdog to win! Sometimes they do.. The benchmark I am measuring against is Caterpillar (CAT) currently closed at $229.50 times the 25 shares $5K would have gotten is up $737.50 My little stable of underdogs is down -$1385.02! A roughly $2K swing going against one of the big dogs.

Eratta notes this week, (TSNPD) is now (HMBL) Humble and (SING) posted a 75:1 reverse split to close the week tally up a hefty  %4,477.78  gain in price but dropping $10 in value. SinglePoint (SINGD) is a solar/renewable energy firm out of Phoenix, Arizona. Reducing the number of shares takes a 2 cent stock to a far more respectable appearing $1.50. It didn’t appear to hold that price for long and closed at $1.03 A change like this can screw up the book keeping on a site for a day or two, I had to improvise to get the numbers to work out.

Down to only three tickers in positive numbers again reflects an overall desultory market. I am very curious to see how these respond when things start to heat up again. Which the market inevitably tends to do over the course of the year.
