"ATU 500 The Name of the Supernatural Helper"

Just when you admit to costly and embarrassing dopamine-hitting behaviours, the gods of the underworld (Algo and Rhythm) send you a messenger; Dan. Affirming that sad vindication, narcissistic behaviour was not ‘all in your mind’. (Just tried to find Dan using AI. AI is rubbish, we have absolutely no worries about it taking over the planet. On the other hand, if AI is learning by copying humans, it is currently focussing on some real dolts. Which, after unplugging it, is plan B to ruin it.)
In some weird parallel, can’t stop thinking about ‘Rumpelstiltskin’ (let’s call him R for now, I don’t have the energy for all those consonants). The story doesn’t add up. If you could spin straw into gold, would you live in a cabin in the woods waiting for the daughters of boastful lying millers to ask for a favour? Or would you have spun that gold on a daily basis, got the hell out of dodge on a private jet to a fancy house, with a much younger straw-to-gold-digger who would only be too happy to ensure future palimony by having babies, or at least arranging the surrogacies. And why land yourself with a kid right away, see the world, sow some wild oats, make your own baby. Therefore, we can assume that although R had an amazing talent, he wasn’t very clever. Is this the lesson? The fall? Skipping around a bonfire chanting your secret name when you’re so close to winning the prize? Like unmasking a narcissist. Bad idea. Perhaps he didn’t really want the prize afterall.
And after being locked in a dungeon for three nights under threat of death, would you marry the horrible king? Whatever its meanings, this is not a story about sensible folk.
Supernatural helper, thy name is YouTube.
