Obsessed

Went to see Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ this afternoon.  It is colossal.  It may just be cinematic genius.  The Moray dolphins make a cameo appearance, what more proof is needed?  Just the sound of it.  Not a soundtrack; it is too unique and all-encompassing.  Apparently, the musicians recreated ancient instruments, used metals, and panels of bronze to emulate bronze age sounds.  The music races your heart and mind along with it, something ancient, something sophisticated, like nothing you’ve ever felt before, as if you are in the depths of the myth itself.  It is absolutely a ‘big’ screen’ experience.  I want to go again.

Mostly because, it was the silver screeners showing, and it was a full house.  Most of us likely persuaded to be there as it was filmed along the coast at Findlater Castle, near Sunnyside beach and Culbin forest.  There is something in a silvery (I suspect that something to be demonic in nature) that is compelled to speak loudly and name the location, as if they are the only one who recognises local places.  Said demon is also fond of stating the obvious in murder mysteries, spy movies and general penny-dropping denouements.  It makes me want to shout ‘Shush!’   Actually, it makes me want to ban said smart-arsed, demonically possessed silveries from coming.  Old ladies are the worst.  Oh, if only Circe really lived along at Sunnyside, I’d refer a few old toads to her to turn into their true forms.

Can you imagine, if a minor goddess with a grudge and a talent for transfiguration magic lived just along the coast.  Good thing?  Bad thing?  Depends if her grudge is pointed in your direction I suppose.  Or if you could send the demonic silveries to be transfigured into their true seagull natures, shitting over everything.
