books
Who like myself saw on tv Sat news about books being left
around all over the place out doors as they want people to
get reading more.
It said they are all by different author's and the idea is if you
see one take it home read it then put it back out there again
for the next person to read, although I think its a great!! idea
I can see a few flaws, like what if its raining or kids start to
destroy them ect ect.
All you writers anyone see it and want to talk about it??????
Most people didn't bother to pick up the books tho. But I can imagine people taking them & not reading them or as you say the books getting destroyed by weather & kids.
Sabelle just wondering what made you say people were not
bothering as the peice I saw most were delighted or did you
read it in the papers as I don't have them.
If you are right I think its a great shame although who ever
thought it up if they could think round it and come up with a
better way of doing it I feel that would be nice...
I was listening to radio 5 and the reporters was saying that most people did n't take the books.
That might just have been their experience tho.
Cheque books might be popular!!!
Yeah. you are funny.
But probably if they were paid to read the books there'd be more takers.
btw looking forward to seeing the match later on. Not sure who I want to win
Sabelle as you have mentioned the match and I know
nothing about matches being played can you inform me
please if Chelsea is on tv today and at what time, I don't
have Sky though but am on cable and get chanel 5 if thats
any help, not a match watcher but I would like to see if my
friends grandson is playing and can't ask my friend as she
is on holiday.
Thanks a bunch...
What's your friend's grandson's name?
Unfortunately, it is on Sky Sports 1 at 4pm. There'll probably be highglights on ITV tomorrow night around 10:30
I think that's great.... I'll try it where I live but won't look very appropriate.
Cheers Sabelle.
D. bes his name is Glen Johnston and he is black and either
19 or 22yrs old.
He has just been bought by Chelsea from West Ham for
6millon+ and is quite an up and coming defender, what ever
that means as I know nothing about the play.
Do know if he had the choice he would have like to stay with
the Hammers...
I wouldn't take a book just sitting there! It doesn't belong to me! What they should do is have free beer in the public library.
Trust a man to think of that...
Glen had a great game for Chelsea against Zilinia on Wednesday.
He played well today, but was taken off as he almost gave away a penalty. But he is still young, and will settle down
I think its s brilliant idea. I'll look out for one. Hell, I might even read one!
That was so kind the information above from both of you
thankyou so much as I have never seen Glen play but
would love to on tv so what you both did was the next best
thing and so unexpected though why I should say that after
only yesterday writing on a thread that there were more
nice than nasty people on here.
Bit of a big head me because you two have just proved me
so right...
PS Are you both Chelsea supporters???
Jay
I am mortally wounded!!
Flash is going to have a field day over this. :-) down boy.
I support Arsenal, but Flash supports Fulham. :-)
No he really supports Chelsea. But football as it is, we do tend to watch most matches. I've watched 3 lives matches this week, all of them good, but today is the first time I've seen Glen live.
Skeeter
Wow you're gonna read a book!!! :-)
Skeeter I'm very pleased you feel that way but if your not
going to read it pass it on to someone who will as that is what
it is suppose to be all about.
OH Sabelle wouldn't wound you not intentionally for the world
especially as I am about to ask a faver which is>>>>>>if
Glen ever does good and you see it maybe you could let me
know as I would get the information quicker on here.
Didn't sound to good about the penalty bet the team were
not pleased or Glen with himself...
Jay, Sabelle longs to be a Chelsea supporter, resisting the inevitable is futile, she will be assimilated.
Jay, I used to read all the time, spent much of my childhood ina library. These days, with work and all, you get too tired..... thats my feeble excuse. but its a brilliant idea to wean people off the telly. Anyway, Sab. I HAVE been reading, I've been reading 'On Writing' by Stephen King, plus I'm still reading 'The Tailor of Panama'. Loved the film. So there.
Aahhh, Sabelle! You are a one for the gentle whimsy. But I still like you, you're a breath of fresh air. And i read a book last year too. It was a green one.
Was it about gardening then Skeet?
Jay - I suspect that Glen Johnson will soon be getting an England call-up. He is a very fine prospect and you should be proud of him. (And you probably already were.)
Andrew if i'm not mistaken I think my friend, Glen's nan, told
me some time ago when he was with West Ham that he has
played for England a couple of times but in the under age lot
or something.
He hasn't had the best of up bringing but Wendy his Mum has
been behind him all the way and he has turned out to be a
very nice young man and hasn't forgot who got him
there "his Mum", as he still lives at home and he treats her
like a queen.
She went without so much and at the moment she doesn't
know what's hit her because he is paying that back three
fold talk about from rags to riches thats not even in it but she
deserves all of that and more, but oh what a lovely!! young
man to now make her and the rest of his family's dreams
come true, not a thought of Iv'e made it now Mum so i'm off
bye like some would, no he just can't do enough...
It's OK Jay.
Assimilated? I'd rather marry Robbie Fowler & breed ugly kids Flash.
Skeeter, you know I'm kidding. I realise your intelligence is without compare
