Bye Ali!
Alastair Campbell about to resign.
Next?
what a shame..... and such a nice bloke too.
I'm gutted
shame he made lovely soup.
I wonder what he'll do next? I hear Iraq needs a new information minister.
Nah, he wouldn't be suitable David. The Iraqis did believe their information minister even if we was telling porkies. No-one here has ever believed a word Campbell has said.
Well I'm off.
S to the n every b.
I am off to do the PR for Saddam and Osama, I think they need the skills of someone like me to turn their public profiles around.....
Only wish Lord Hatton could make a wasted costs order. So we had all of this because of one badly chosen word in a live broadcast at 6.07 am?
I know several hardbitten contract lawyers who would have blanched at the fine shades of distinction that Campbell and Blair have relied so heavily on. Is there any real difference between what Kelly said they did and what they did? Anyone in their right mind would look at the emails and evidence and say that Campbell 'beefed up' the intelligence report which was full of caution and clearly saying Iraq could be a threat in the future but wasn't yet - not sure how much distinction I draw between beefed up and sexed up.
The 45 minute thing - did Blair and Campbell know it was false is the gist of their case, with Blair saying (and prejudging the outcome) "If it had been found so, I would have HAD TO (past tense) resign". Well, knowing whether something is false is not all that far away from asserting that it is true when it is a vague possibility.
I still think there was a case for war on evil regime grounds, problem being, we'd then have to go off and tackle some other pretty nasty regimes. What I don't think you can do as a Government is ask your intelligence agency for a risk analysis and then ask them to toughen it up so that the analysis fits the answer you initially wanted.
Anyway, Campbell going changes very little; someone very similar will fill the role. As Pete Townsend famously sang in Won't Get Fooled Again "Meet the new boss - same as the old boss"
This whole bloody 45mins thing is SOOO tiresome. Does it matter? Who gives a @!#$?
Saddam is gone, bring on the next one. Kelly committed suicide fer chrissakes! Her couldn't hack it. He wasn't murdered as far as we know. The only question that needs asking is whether or not somebody as unstable as him should have been in the job in the first place.
I am a reggae singer as well as a politician.
I'm not a liar, though sometimes I don't always tell the truth. My job was to protect Tony at all costs, but I've now decided to take time out to look after my family who need me at this crucial time.
I thank you all for your support, & would like to offer my condolences the the Kelly family, something I did forget to do when MI5 told...er, I heard that he had killed himself.
I'll be back.
you don't really believe all this shite do you? he'll still be about yanking Blairs hands up and down, working his mouth, phucking Cherie, looking after his project.
as for who is next ... it is irrelevant. they are all hairless poodles.
90% of the electorate do not understand politics and its associated economics anyway and 40% of the 90 vote how their daily rag tells them.
oh, I've lost the will to continue.
The Hutton enquiry is just a giant smokescreen diverting people from the real issue which is: why are the Little Chef mustard sachets so impossible to open. They give you a neat dotted line near the edge of the sachet to make you think you can tear them open but you can't. It's a physical impossibility.
It's got to the point where every time I go out I have to take a pair of scissors with me. It shouldn't be like that. Not in 2003.
He's probably going to be an estate agent or something. Unless he writes a book. Oh God! What a horrible thought!
have you noticed how fat the liitle chef is?
yet more spin.
Jeffrey Archer's publisher would probably be interested in A.C.
And "Little Chef" is first cousin to motorway service areas. They both trade on laziness. Find a transport caff', a fish 'n' chip shop, a kebab shop - anything else!
