So what's happened to the link to the Friends Of Abctales? Are we no longer friends? Do you have NO friends anymore?
And WHY am I still living in effing NEWCASTLE?
Aha! Elfyn's back! Huzzah!
Can I have the Breville please, Sneak?
I'd prefer it if you've had a chance to clean it first. Many thanks, Jeff.
Newcastle's cool, Missi.
Fog On The Tyne, Alan Shearer, Andy Capp, Get Carter, Newcy Brown, Dire Straits, Byker Grove, whippets, pigeon fanciers, Angel Of The North, the Metro, ferries to Scandinavia, a great Chinatown, classic bridges, half an hour's drive and you're somewhere really wild and not the M25 intersection...
But at this time of year it's not just cool, bloody freezing more like.

Dire Straits were a London band I'm afraid Neil, Knopfler may have been a geordie by birth but the band was born in Deptford. The 'Angel of the North' is the biggest pile of scrap I've ever seen, I could have knocked up better than that in my lunch break. The weather is crap, the beer is crap, whippets are crap. The town may be OK, but I DON'T live there and have never had the inclination to visit.
It's quite near Whitley Bay the Blackpool of the North East.
The beer is very good Missi, you are wrong there...
Liana, technically 'ale' is not 'beer', on the other hand 'lager' IS.
oh.. i THOUGHT the beer i drank down south resembled very expensive chemical water...that would explain it...
:o)
Yeah, we're a lot of tasteless tossers south of Watford.
Speaking of friends of this site. Are donations accepted on this site to help keep up the cost of programmers and necessary maintenance upkeep? The reason I am asking is that on the site in the states I was on I donated montly. Since I don't use that site and am on ABC constantly I thought it only fair I do the same here if acceptable. Could someone please explain to me the whens, whys and wheres if donations are accepted.
Donations are accepted, but it seems the facility for accepting them is kapoo right now unless you have a bank account in the UK and can send a check. They'll sort this out soon I susepct.
I would like to donate an old pair of jeans that I no langer have any use for. Where do I send them?
nice sneak
Langer?
Thanks Missi - I'm not a Dire Straits expert but that explains both the Geordie and South London references in their songs.
Funny about beer advertising - there's the Boddington's "Cream Of Manchester" adverts which focus on the frothy head, but the last time I visited friends near Newbury I noticed a Southern beer advert which hinted that we were being conned by Northern pubs and breweries into buying volumes of foam which ought to be beer. I like Young's though, it's one of my favourite supermarket beers.
Better get off to bed or Santa won't come.

Friends of ABC will be up again very soon!
As for donations - thankyou, they are always very very very welcome!
We have a PayPal account and the button will go up very soon. I just felt that whilst it was still a mess it was a bit of cheek to ask for cash!
Still, Elfyn is due in this afternoon and he has done great things on the beta site and so an improved ABC with a large number of glitches sorted will go up in the next couple of days (it should be this afternoon but I've learnt no to promise anything!)
A very merry Christmas to you all and a cracking New Year!
I take it that my old jeans aren't good enough then? I am a little hurt but I know that with time and counselling I will get over this. I also have a Breville Sandwich maker that I'm not using? It doubles up an underwear dryer... no?
