Voddie martini is *much* better. Perfume is for wearing not drinking i always think... and just think - if we ever feel a bit billy about being in on a friday night on our own having a drink - it could be much much worse.. we could be sat in a pub opposite some beer drinking peanut bladdered bloke, peeling a beermat to shreds thru sheer boredom whilst they waffle on about footy/office politics/everything-that-you-are-wrong-about-and-they-are-right-about...

A solution from today's Sun (don't ask): LONELY drinkers are logging on to a new internet site — which finds them chums to go to the pub with. The website’s founder Mark Payne, 32, reckons his service — which he calls — could end up rivalling Friends Reunited. He hit on the idea after moving to a new area where he had nobody to share a pint with. Mark who runs a fast food restaurant in Newbury, Berks, said: “All my friends were 50 miles away and it’s difficult to go into a pub and start talking to people. “I went out to rent a video — and as I was browsing saw other sad gits like myself who were obviously single.” His site seeks out other drinkers in the local area. Hundreds of punters have flocked to register details since Mark launched the £5-a-month service last month. Mark said one bonus for fellas was that they can also meet women drinkers. He grinned: “I’ve met a dozen people already, including a lady.” One user — Nick, 34 — said: “When I moved to Devon I didn’t know anyone. It was difficult to socialise and I wanted to meet people. Drinking buddys is the perfect solution.”
