Hi,
Ive just signed up with ABC, unsure of a couple of things, when uve put a story on line, how can u tell if people have read it and what they thought about it?
Cheers Helen
Hi and welcome Helen,
Generally you can't, although some people may rate your piece.
If you read other people's work and then comment on it in the 'discuss writing' forum then people are more likely to read and comment your stories.
Drew.
cheers for that and will do, i was after some constructive critisism. ITs great showing family but they arn't the best to be honest sometimes
Cheers Helen
YOu can also start a thread (on the other thread, that is) asking for feedback, and add a link to your piece. People are (generally) very positive and helpful.
helen,
Post the link on the Writing Thread and I'll read it and get back to you.
thanks kj, been completly thick how do you set up a link?
Cheers Helen
Practice ducking, and you'll fit in nicely, HP.......hello *big smile*
Hi helen,
Just click on your story and then paste the address in the browser bar (for instance, this thread is at http://phorum.abctales.com/read.php?f=1&i=155888&t=155888)
Then add a < at the beginning and a > at the end, to make it clickable. Like this
Best to do this on the 'Discuss writing from ABC' forum, rather than on the General Discussion.
Okey cokey?
Alabama
[%sig%]
cheers alabama
See....that's ducking? You're learning fast...LOL :)
Welcome to ABC! We used to have a times read cunter on the stories but it seems to be beyond the new system - we are working on it but don't hold your breath.
In order to get feedback just put the link up, as described, on the Discuss Writing from ABC' forum. It is also 'good' to comment on others who are asking for feedback - you tend to sow as your reap!
Here's to many happy years with ABCtales!
Was the 'times read' thing, George?
how did i do ducking lol
Tony, that's the strangest apparatus I've ever heard of; how does it work?
:o)
I'm not sure I'd want to own one, personally!! :-D
Definitely not if it' IS George... blurrggghhh. :oP
That has to be the best typo error in a long time!
Bravo, TC.
OOPS! cOunter!
Welcome to the machine, Helen.
