bYe Syd!
One of my faves is Golden Hair
Lean out your window, golden hair
I heard you singing in the midnight air
my book is closed, I read no more
watching the fire dance, on the floor
I've left my book, I've left my room
For I heard you singing through the gloom
singing and singing, a merry air
lean out the window, golden hair...
(James Joyce)
I'm glad he stepped aside when he did...or should I say...toppled aside....and made way for Mr. Waters esq.

waters was responsible for dark side...gilmour was pretty alright with all that hair and that chin, but floyd would have ducked out long ago if Mr.Waters hadn't have kept the bong chilled and the perceptions cleansed

Gimour was called in to play the guitar and cover for Syd's ever more erratic and shambolic live performances. Then they dropped Syd (or just didn't pick him up one night) and Gilmour settled in permanently.
With Syd gone, Waters' ego was allowed to grow fat and ugly, and filled all available spaces.
They did a couple of good albums though.
I bet Syd will be grateful forever to you josie for extending his life by 4 days.
He died last Friday according to informed opinion.
He is just another example of drugged out hell. He fried his own head, I doubt he ingested grass though, THAT'S harmless!
I find it hard to feel much sympathy for him. (or Peter Green, Hendrix, Joplin et al)
What's the matter? What's got your goat?
What does it matter about those four days?
The man had scizophrenia, and died at the age of 60, possibly from diabetes complications.
Drugged-out insulin hell...
No-one's talking sympathy, it's just a figure from childhood days who's now dead.
There is no need for drama, unless you like drama.
Goat? I don't keep animals, though I DO eat them.
Don't be so bloody sensitive, I wasn't trying to piss anyone off ya know. There's no drama, unless you have one to deal with.

Doesn't matter to me at all but if i had the choice of dying today or next Monday i think I'd rather have the weekend first.
