Editors and Puddings

Have we had a change of editors recently as I notice that there seem to be fewer cherries or puddings being given out? I think I just counted 4 in three pages of recently added stories. I've been noticing this for a while now. Perhaps I'm wrong but I can't believe it's because the standard of writing has gone down.

I think it is due to lack of editing staff Moya ot else there is nothing of quality!
They do a very good job in my opinion. It's all voluntary. If you think a piece is eligible for a cherry try flagging it in the forums.
It wasn't a criticism, Pia, it was an enquiry. I know they do it voluntarily and I appreciate their efforts on our behalf. It wasn't about my work either as I haven't put anything up for a while. It was just something I noticed and as I said I could be wrong. I just wondered if anyone else had noticed. Obviously not.

it might be that the new competition is really popular Moya, and as entries to competitions don't qualify for cherries (or puddings), this is skewing the cherry/pudding ratio?

Ah Ha! Now that could be it. I hadn't thought about the competition but I do know they don't qualify for Puds or Cherries. Also if there is a shortage of editors, people qualified to cook the puds or grow the cherries, that also seems plausible. But I would stress it wasn't a criticism just an observation. I would never dream of criticizing them the amount they have to plough their way through. I hope this clears up any misunderstanding. Moya

My Mum's surname was Cherry, she was one of 10 so there are plenty of cherries about in this family!Linda
