Hi all - just wanted to welcome myself to this site, which I'm really looking forward to making proper use of. There seems to be some good stuff lying around, and the community seems buoyant, helpful and supportive.

I've been writing stuff for a long time, but am only just getting to the stage now where I want anyone else to look at it - I would appreciate constructive criticisms, or any kind of observations based on my story ("A day in a life" - here - http://www.abctales.com/abcplex/viewstory.cgi?s=15778) which Editor no 90 (who are you???) was kind enough to 'cherry pick'.

Looking forward to becoming part of the furniture!

I am the mysterious editor 90 and I liked Chunkey Monkey's piece. It's already had 59 reads (I wish people would read my stuff that much!), but it is worth checking out. Chunkey, what I particularly liked was the ordinariness of the salaryman character and the small details of his life (which reminded me of one of my very favourite writers Haruki Murakami) and I also liked the feeling of the city as character, in the noir tradition. More from you, please.

Thanks for the comments, Andrew, much appreciated. More will come in time, but I've already begun to reap the benefits of abctales - comments from another user (very kind, and thougtful, and well-phrased criticisms which matched my own concerns about the story so accurately it was eerie), and the warm glow that comes from being honoured with cherries and 74 hits. I look forward to reading, writing and participating more of/for/in abctales.com. Thanks again, Armand
