One good poem is impressive, but when you hit nine in a row, it's time to bring him to people's attention. This guy is good. Barenib and Eddie good.
Thank you all so much for your comments. You are too kind. This place is great, and makes me all warm and tingly inside :-)
Simon
Yeah, just lay off kid, you make the rest of us look bad!
(looks round, hopes nobody noticed)
:-)
Yeah he is magic..
I loved this poem, but I don't know why:
"Quiet: 1.15am.
1:15am was sublime
but it only lasted a minute.
It just occured to me
as my optic nerve sensed a person moving
and my teeth gritted through the pane:
I've never seen any of them
during the day as I work...
In the vacancy of the street,
yellow lights are spaced out like prehistoric bulbs of amber.
Glowing homes to blood-heavy mosquitoes.
The helix of extinction is mapping a new course.
So I go out and walk the streets.
Peering into their black chambers,
their nocturnal boudoirs.
I see the school at night.
Shops closed, no cars on the main road.
I bet I wont see them tomorrow either.
Perhaps I'm not allowed to?
Maybe they just see me
and say "there's the chap
who tried to catch a glimpse of us
last night, full alert for everyone."
So now I sleep,
and abandon the streets
I've never seen them in. "

I think he brought himself to our attention, andrew! I spent yesterday searching for BAD one so I could sneer knowingly! :-? I couldn't find one! How is he so good?
Because he's from liverpool? Like me? there may be hope for me yet :-)
