So Not Much Has Changed There Then
I’m not sharing this with ABCtalers for self-promotion in any form, please believe me, but only because I recently came across these comments made when I was writing for a number of obscure homeworking publications (i.e. The Fellowship Trader, Money Master & Discount Mailer’s Club News – what! You haven’t heard of them?).
These comments so amused me that I just had to share them with you. Please forgive me:
“Karl Wiggins is not afraid to stand toe-to-toe with the reader and write “in yer face.” His stories are often humorous and sometimes shocking, but they always carry a thump! They should be offered free in youth clubs throughout the land.” Doug Ellis, South American explorer and journalist.
“Some might consider he is a bumptious oaf.” Big Flo, agony aunt to The Jaclow. "He should apply to John Major or Tony Blair for a position as a spin doctor."
“Due to the laughter you owe my secretary one clean pair of knickers.” Publisher and company director (who wishes to remain anonymous).
“You write a very sarcastic letter, Mr. Wiggins. A number of important people are getting rather pissed off with you” Glasgow debt recovery specialist, after finally catching up with the author on the Algarve.
“Yup, that’ll happen.” The author, sitting suntanned and relaxed, and sipping a cold beer outside a dive club in Portugal.
So not much has changed there then.
