I 've always thought and still do that men like long hair best
and always wished I could grow mine long but it never
happened, and it didn't help that my sister who was 7ys
older had lovely long red hair and a personality to go with it
so gess who pulled all the fellers when we were growing up
well it certainly wasn't me and yes I was very envious.
Something else I've always thought which may sound old
fashioned the way I'm putting it but I definitely think most
men if not all imagine themselves running their hands
through a women long hair it would be very pleasurable to
them and I have had that feeling about this all my life and
even now I don't think I am far wrong...
Liana, that sounds a bit like the Samson and Delilah story, with a modern twist to it of course. :))
Hair length on men was a major issue when I was in high school and college (1965-1973). It was a social statement, anti-war thing. It was a constant topic of conversation, even on radio shows and TV, spawning huge and very heated debates. No one seemed to care about women's hair, and frankly the results showed. In my generation, the women all seemed to have long straight hair parted in the middle and drapped over their shoulders down their back, the classic Janis Joplin hippy-chick earthmother look. Add some granny-glasses and you were set for life. It was boring. Everyone looked the same. A lot of guys were trying to look like Che Guevera, with varying results.
I guess I really don't react to women's hair styles very much one way or the other because during my formative years (LOL), it was a non-issue. On the other hand, I get very strong immediate impressions from men's hair styles. Of course, these impressions are based upon information that is well over 30 years out of date in some cases, so I'm not always very accurate with it, but still, the initial reactions are like that. I don't think I'm alone in this regard, just older. Maybe too long of a memory.
thats because there ARE no bad girls, just angels with broken wings and a dodgy past
my eyes are grey unless I've been crying then they become a dirty denim colour
I thought about getting my hair cut today. I was in one of those shave my head sort of moods (although it would never be anything less than a grade 6 on top and a 4 at the sides) and have in the past ritually had my hair cropped to mark an end or a beginning of something.

I'm shortsighted. I wear glasses.

I adore long hair on men - I think it's about the sexiest thing.
I used to keep my hair incredibly short, but then developed a terror of hairdressers about a year ago, and haven't been to one since. As a result, my hair is now curling around my shoulders, and apparently looks much better. I look girly and cute (*shudders* I hate cute) and I get a lot of comments about it, one from a virtual stranger at work while I was practising moshing in front of the mirrors in the toilets - 'Wow, your hair is so cool!'
The only down side is that it makes the grey more noticeable
I haven't had mine cut for years, it's right down below my waist, but it's got nothing to do with looking sexy or anything, it's a revolt against my motherwho kept hauling me to the hairdressers to have it cut and get a nice perm. Isn't that sad?
i've tried growing mine long....just gets bushy, so I have it cut whenever the bouffant gets out of control...
long or shirt hair on women...i'm easy on that...like both...can be equally sexy...
*is happy staying completely on the fence on this one*
hmm, difficult this one. I admit to looking at the hair first, especially when driving, but am often disappointed with the boat race which perhaps means the hair issue is a primeval thing?
My wife had a sort of mid length curly style (there is probably a proper name for it but I have always been tonsorially challenged) when we first met. She later grew it long, no doubt from pressure by me, and I thought it fab. For the last ten years she has worn it shorter and, after initial male reaction, I liked it and still do especially now that it is tinted. (have always been a brunette man. cannot recall ever going out with a blonde let alone marrying one)
Nowadays I tend to find it depends on the face. Some can carry long hair and some are ideally suited to short hair and I find both equally attractive.
Thge only time I think it does not work is when you see long hair on women when they are losing it (the hair not the brain); you know, down at the local, you ask the back of the laviscious locks for a light only to find yourself confronted by a female svengoran with 3 teeth cackling "ooh, you'll be wanting a blow job next"
well, enough about me and the circles I live in
ps anyone see that kid on anglia tv that has had an erickson haircut?
poor kid. he looked like the class geek and his 'mates' were clearly full of disdain with regard to his football ability (keepy up skilll score = 1)
pps 2: I had my shortest ever cut last month - nr3 on top - 2 at sides) only for wife to say (after 3 yrs of me having short haircuts) "you know, I think I preferred you with longer hair")
farkit! I only cut it short to keep her happy in the first place. Oh well ... back to hugh grant foppish mess only withpout the looks and the blow job.
A good friend of mine has a very boyish haircut, but I honestly don't think hair any longer would suit her at all, she's just got the right shaped face for short hair, she looks prettiest that way.
I have shortish hair myself because I can't have it looking like either of my sisters, they have long, and short, so I sorta have middling, but from looking at my sisters I can tell I would look alright in whatever hairstyle I have (identical triplets, no comments please, and whatever you do don't say 'oh your poor mum' because it's the first thing EVERYBODY says and we are all 15 now so it's not like she has to change our nappies any more and besides she's enjoyed bringing us up. *deep breath* if anybody says 'oh your poor mum' now or 'how did she cope??' they are really in for it).
I find it annoying when my hair reaches about halfway down my neck because that's when it gets really hard to manage. If I ever wanted to grow it properly I would have to go through that really messy stage to get there.
:)
Saw Denise van Outen on the Brian Conley show and said to my wife "I like her hair like that, why don't you get your hair like that." I said that then made her watch "Big Brother" and "Angel".....
Seriously, she said its okay to grow hair but it looks like shite when its growing out.
I'll take that as a NO.

I think it has to do with an instinctive response based on signals showing ability to reproduce. To elaborate: if a woman is young and healthy, she generally can grow long healthy luxuriant hair. This signals to a potential mate that she would be good at reproducing. Now men may not actually be consciously looking to reproduce, but on a basic level that is what some of the men-women stuff is about , and that's why I think men like long hair on women!
