Oh, I can take the smile off your face and give you some very real nightmares to dream about in the truth of the world, Smiley! But it's all much too late to stop, as everyone who needs to be involved is already!
So just kick back, swallow a peanut or two, an watch the shit go down around you.....it'll all be well worth the wait!
God I love big bang theories and burning money fur...they're just so entertaining!
Now, now, Jaspie. Jesus was a very good and timely teacher, especially relevant during the Roman occupation of Palestine. Unfortunately, like most good teachings, his were selectively utilised and manipulated in order to create a useful dogma under which to control the population.
*sighs again*
Does F**k Off explain far more clearly what I really think about some Phallic Jewish twat, with a headache, hanging from a Cross to empower a pack of Rosary-bead sucking Rock spiders and woman bashers!
Or would you really like me to go to WAR on religion! I'd love a minute with that God prick too.....I'd chew his wings off spit em in ya face!
Hey I thought you liked mathematics. If you chew his wings we won't have hidden line/surface algorithms for our three dimensional world and if you spit them in anybody's face there goes our last chance to finally square the circle.
Matthew 10:34-36
Do not think I came to put peace upon the earth; I came to put NOT peace but a sword...
For I came to cause division, with a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a young wife against her mother-in-law. Indeed, a man's enemies will be the persons of his own household.
<< ... and if it is true that the Christian gospel of love is incompatible with this >>?
[%sig%]
Depends what you mean by "peace" - if it's a warm huggy feeling, then no. If it's a determination to try to live with integrity and harmony with God and man, then, yes - but this Bible passage is being realistic about what will happen if you want to follow Jesus in a violently anti-christian culture. Anyone from a Muslim background who "converts" will find their family literally become enemies and might be lucky to stay alive, all I got from my British family was mild ridicule and a sense of disappointment.`
Ha!
"a kind of politics he learned from both Marx and Jesus"
That's much like learning flower arranging from [David Carradine's] Cain and Deng Xiaoping.
To apply this sort of thing is to leave politics entirely behind and enter the realm of philosophy known as Bolockysheidt. That's a technical term for the application of metaphysics to politics. "Metaethics" deals with taking very reasonable philosophies and breaking their rigor, in order to suit a pseudo-intellectual dinner party end; Hegel, Marx, Aquinas, back to Hegel, Spinoza, Schopenhauer then Spinoza again.
There are two Left wings, the left wing of capitalism ( a sociopolitical mechanism that helps boost profits, triggered whenever the bankers/big sharks need a huge social upheaval on one side of the planet in order to manipulate on the opposite side ) and the real Left Wing which is clearly idealistic, communistic and anti-capitalistic to the nth degree -- and which is of course a utopia. All the so called communistic revolutions helped capitalism one way or the other.
Democracy is also another completely fraudelent political system, it actually digests everything, and is nothing but a demo not the full version of an ideal doctrine that could never work on the planet of dystopia.
Hmmm...he who tries to lock the clock, may just get his pretty little face burnt off by a solar flare, I'd reckon. But then that's dependent on unforeseen variables too, like all matrix probabilties are! Every upshot has its down shot, and just a particle of space dust can punch a through a planet like it were cheese.
Somehow, I always feel you forget about Aristophane's satirical impact on the modern world, KC. And as the Patria-Potesta's was a Greek concept of Family values and Moral code (stolen and adapted by the Romans...typically), the artisans strummed it up very poorly. And while dear old Archimedes did so love his hydostatics too much, his Arrow Code remains never broken... even that great twat Einstein was twarted by it! I wrote a paper on it at University once.....it drove all the rocket scientists insane......but although I was shunned, I never got the paper back..strange! So see Aristotle ....his remarkable 999 tulips gives no room for your mind change claim, as the Sorites falls into line only with his 6 figured Syllogism (Sullogsm(?) ABCDEF)!
Oh and they have squared the circle btw...it's called Pi (3.14159 >>>>>>>>>....)...but that's their loss, not mine! And as for The Mona Lisa smile, it's obvious: Lorenzo (Da Vinci) had a little dick! But apart from hiding such small matters from the world, I simply hope that Aristotle's true life Works will be released to the world one day.....they'll blow all minds?
"It is impossible to 'square the circle'. i.e: You can't draw a square with the same area as a circle using standard / Euclidean straight-edge and compass construction in a finite number of steps. Many were obsessed with trying to do this. Pi is a 'transcendental' number. This means that it is not the solution to any finite polynomial (eg: lots of numbers added in a series) with whole number coefficients. This is why it is impossible to square the circle. Pi day is celebrated on March 14 at the Exploratorium in San Francisco (March 14 is 3/14) at 1:59 PST which is 3.14159. All the digits of Pi can never be fully known."
"Democracy is also another completely fraudelent political system, it actually digests everything, and is nothing but a demo not the full version of an ideal doctrine that could never work on the planet of dystopia."
Fantastic!
A sentence involve a number of clever words that, on closer inspection, means nothing whatsoever.
How are the A-Levels going?
Errr...I think you blew his fuses, KC! Now he's A-class yellow submarine...or a Politician...you can choose which hairs!
That means he's being sarcastic!
Democracy was mean to have neither Ruler's nor bureaucrats, in its full potency...Blame Plato, his Uncle, and those Medici scumbags backed by Jewish overlords for our present day, noodle soup, crap!
Strange thing is though, KC, apart from time being irrelevent of course, is that a cube under water (with tension variations considered) looks just like a sphere! And we are in flux within vapour'd surroundings, are we not?
Purple turtle: Here comes Jesus to catch fish with bread, again!
Phantom: Pass me that Pike pole!
an inner outie or an outer leftie? Look. I know that I appear to lack compassion for the poor and stuff but I don't. I have lots of compassion for the poor - of Eastern Europe, Africa, Asia and Latin AMerica, where they have no way of escaping.
Anyway, back to my book. Well Herbert McCabe explained what he mant by capitalism and I have to say my own perception was wrong. And he says that there is no way of sorting the unequal distribution of wealth and relieving poverty as long as modern capitalism is in place.
blimey!
I think there's a good lesson in what you say Jude.
Very often we dive into long and protracted debates and arguements about things without taking the logical first step of defining our terms.
It may seem very tedious, but a definition of terms doesn't have half clear up a lot of confusion.
So what's your definition of capitalism versus McCabe's?
I'd define as an economic system in which all or most of the means of production are privately owned and operated for profit, and where investments, production, distribution, income, and prices are determined largely through the operation of a "free market" rather than by centralized state control...
But McCabe was talking about workers having only their labour to sell. a "Capitalist" buys this at the minimum cost and the profits of the labour instead of going t the labourer are invested in "Capital" by the "capitalist" he said more but I'll have to look it up again. There is an eternal struggle to the worker who wants to sell his labour at the best cost and the capitalist who wants the cheapest price for labour.
his version makes it sound unfair!
What a capitalist would say: "Help me get in touch with my inner aristocratic side" (Economists have created and bred all modern political systems according to their masters' wishes and they don't give a flying f*ck about them, but they feed their right wing boys more than their left wing ones... but that's part of the game. How else to remain right wing and how else to continue to be a leftie??? unless of course we are talking about the "rich kid syndrom of sociological guilt with severe identity crisis and father-son competitive intellectual disputes")
What a socialist would say: "Help me get in touch with my inner capitalist side" *bleurgghhhhhhh*
What a real leftie would say: "Help me get in touch with my inner anarchistic side" )good, it was about time) Anarchy oh Anarchy, another cunning mechanism of the big sharks. It will be triggered one day, globally, be sure about that. And everything will begin anew..., "Once upon a time there was Autocracy that took many shapes and many names .... so my child We are doomned, welcome to the illusion of a happy everafter..."
It's been already said what a christian would say.
Now an atheist who is also a free mind, that's not tough at all --we all know what an atheist would say: "DO NOT help me get in touch with any of the above"
David has misunderstood my post, but his sarcasm is interesting and innocuous. I want Democracy to have a more sensitive stomach, David, is that so bad?
And this is for J, a bonus note that just belly-landed:
The two left wings work separately, the left wing of capitalism is capitalism wearing the red wig of the real Left wing *wink* and if that fails to blow anybody's fuses then I'm the new Pope.
A friend questioned my theory that absolute Anarchy and chaotic social upheavals will turn things upside down in the future and she based it on the sad fact that modern people are too complacent, there is too much boredom, and yes modern oppression is indeed very insidious and narcotic, quite pleasant quite invisible.
I told her that they have thought of that too:
"as soon as they take back all the credit cards, you will feel it.... everybody will go berserk... don't you worry, it's in our DNA the revolution thing and the complacency thing.... THEY know it"
[%sig%]
I found some stuff about Latin American Christianity and Marxist philosophy etc. and it's so bloody boring that I'm going to paste this instead:
Why don't Marxists drink earl grey? Because earl grey is proper tea, and proper tea is theft!
Here is a sophisticated anecdote that comes from 1980s Hungary, and is a jibe that was a form of resistance to the Communist state:
The Roman emperor is luxuriating in his bath, when his councillors rush in, breathless and hardly able to speak. "Your Highness! The slaves are in revolt! Unless you come quickly and calm them down, we may lose control!! The emperor quickly gets out, dries himself off, jumps into his toga, and re-arranges his laurel wreath in the mirror. Coming out on to the balcony, he is confronted by a sea of placards, reading, "Long live feudalism, the bright hope for humankind!"
(Hint: 'long live socialism, the bright hope for humankind' was a typical state slogan that adorned buildings in public space)
Long live democracy the bright hope for Iraq!
Oh my my, Stummy: you forgot to mention her free maket access card which is so desperately needed to enter and shop-right at Commodities Inc. It's that Mega cyber store whose membership, goods and services, don't really exist until they're purchased. Yes, you heard me...or are you deaf as well as blind? Strange how them credit cards hold more value than either the target of the Market Goods or the beholder, annit just! But as I'm very left handed, I've never really wanted to pull to the right....not even when masturbating, actually! I mean, they'd probably steal it all and smother World Market with Jasper Cum, while claiming it's a fountain of youth for old pricks or a cure for AIDS...lol. And btw, the markets aim is your death at the cost of your life...it's a win win situation....for them....The Jews! You breed and they charge up your debit card...to the always negative?
What's that? I'm talking shit? Maybe: But ask MGM and that little jewish Hitler called, Charlie Chaplin, how they all strummed up the Americans to drag em into WW2.....God Save The Queen, my bum, she's their Godsheads on a pike against the middle (YOU)... try to burn the bitch and her KKK, and see what happens....I dare you!
You should really listen properly, Strummy: all wars since the Medici-church-fathers took up world domination in Florence (in1500's I think), were designed to Free The Jews..... not you, me, or Donald f**ken Duck!
But you just keep playing Monopoly and voting democrazily.... I'm sure you'll catch on...not!
Keep your eye on Dan Brown's Da-Vinci Code: its claim of a Secret Society protecting the Holy Grail, is very real.....But it's called HER WOMB, and you too can own one to line the Churches pockets with gold! But then the Jews do own the precious gem and art makets worldwide too, don't they....have fun dying as slave to love!
I reckon the Vatican will be forced to throw some 'dirty old wooden Carpenters cup' to dirvert attention form its true deceipt btw! Maybe even an ATOM...lol
VOTE, ya bastards....encourge em to screw ya down properly!
PSSSTTT...Lorenzo the Magnificent was Da Vinci, you twats! And Michelangelo (THE GREEK), owned almost everything claimed to be of Da Vinci....cool trick HUH! But who in their right mind would want to own that butt ugly Mona Lisa...errrrrggh!
Ahhh, them Golden Childs....makes ya feel all warm and fuzzy and important inside, don't they just....what a ploy...but I may be talking shit...or not?
Purple Turtle: Maybe Socrates was that Jewish Moses bloke, as he was the only man in history with enough courage to face the Ptolemy clan in Eygpt on his own to demand the release of his friends...only cost him his life..oh well?
Kermit: Smoking Jesus, Batman, them Caine and Able blokes sound a lot like Plato and Aristotle to me too?
Phantom: Stuff em all, Jasper, they're all such a waste of breathe!
well I am a labourer and I've never really thought that about the fact that my boss keeps the profit I make and invest it in their own interests. It just hasn't crept into my drink addled mind before.
sorry.
I think what he's saying in the above excerpt is that Christians might have some affinity with leftist ideology - the equality of all people irrespective of birth, the obligation to ensure that the poor are not exploited, etc - they will balk at being co-opted into a "class struggle", even if it doesn't involve actual violence, because they're meant to struggle against spiritual enemies - the world, the flesh and the devil - and not against the people who make up the rest of society.
He's setting up the case for what a lot of Christians would believe (and why they wouldn't vote "Old Labour" but are happy to vote for Blair) before laying out his argument against it.
Sometimes I think that people with complex, difficult-to-understand theories are talking out of their arses; they veil a lack of anything substantial to say in fancy language. Generally, simplicity works well for theories and theologies as well. "Love thy neighbour as thyself", "The Kingdom of God is within thee", or, indeed, "The meek shall inherit the earth"; in Buddhism, "To desire is to suffer". These are all easy to understand, far more difficult to put into genuine practice.
I, personally, would put the book back on the shelf and continue to follow my own inner directives to act with acceptance and loving-kindness toward everyone, the way Jesus probably meant us to.
