Lifting the Latch by Sheila Stewart

A friend bought me this book recently after hearing it discussed on the radio and deciding it was up my street. He was right, it is a wonderful book, so much so I've got this urge to tell everyone about it. It's the story of Mont Abbot, and Oxfordshire farm labourer who grafts his way through the greater part of the twentieth century, told in his own words. I'd love to know what anyone else thought of it, and just to recommend it to all.
