technical problem with line spacing

This happens once in a while, such as today. I have tried to post two new pieces, both by "cut and paste" and by typing it into the space by hand.

In both cases, the lines do not break where I typed them to break. I deleted both pieces and will try again tomorrow, but meanwhile, has anyone else had this problem? If so, what was the cause/solution, if you know.

Thanks.

Justin I to have had this problem. I think the server does not recognise non punctuation. I just added an extra space and it was fine. Sorry we did not get a chance to meet last week. Ralph

Aha. Well, I'll give that a try tomorrow. I enjoyed your performance last week. I heard they are to make this a monthly event. Sounds good to me. It seems there are quite a few events around London involving poetry readings etc. I've seen some listed in Time Out but haven't explored yet.

This seems to plague me once in a while for no particular reason. I've tried the extra space, retyping it from scratch, etc etc but the problem persists. Maybe the webmaster has a suggestion? Normally, this doesn't happen, but when it does, there seems to be no way to fix it.

Hitting return twice should definitely give you a break. Try hitting it three times. If that doesn't work, can you e-mail me details of the computer, operating system and browser you're using in case there's a technical issue with certain types of machine. Cheers Em

I've used both methods of posting - pasting and the laborious way via a set-top box. (Two hours per story..) Now, poetry comes out perfect.. but prose doesn't! It's either one continuous gush, or a line space between each separate line. It makes conversation stretch out for ever! Also, it means having to do this - ***** To denote a time shift, instead of one blank line. Beats me..
