New Sounds: re:creation CD by Aesthetica Music

Aesthetica Magazine, York-based independent, not-for-profit, and self-funded literary and arts magazine is breaking through into music and has formed Aesthetica Music. Aesthetica Magazine has grown from an idea into a publication that is sold in Borders Stores nationwide and unites different communities and ideologies under the ethos of equality, creativity, and diversity.

Aesthetica Music will be releasing a 17-track full-length album including some of the best-unsigned musicians around.

The CD is called re:creation and these are bands/singer/songwriters included:

AKP, Just Jon, Rob Hughes with Stone Groove, customer1000, Ant David, Simon & Ben, Trickledown, red:shift, Dust Bowl Central, Mike Newsham, Hayley Hutchinson, Joseph Alan, Chu Ma Shu, Numbfoot, Syncrownized, Simon Snaize, and She’s Not Dead.

The CD was inspired after a series of event nights where we mixed live music and poetry. After realising that unpublished writers and artists had a platform to spring from we decided to create a space for unsigned musicians. This space, nearly 71 minutes long, captivates the diverse plethora of real music. Every musician who plays live music has inspired re:creation. It is not only playing the music but also feeling it. re:creation was formed to celebrate and commemorate real music and insightful musicians.

Within the CD the 17 tracks formulate a new sound: a movement between decades 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, and now. With rock alternative twists, gentle acoustic sounds, and nineties indie-grunge, it creates a melody that flows from track to track so we at Aesthetica Music say thank you to all who play music and to you who support new music.

To launch this event we are hosting a SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL on Sunday 18th July at FIBBERS, The Stonebow, York. This festival will be an all-day event with live music from 4:30pm-11:00pm. Tickets are £4 in advance and £5 on the door.

re:creation will be available from 1 July 2004 on www.aestheticamagazine.com and from 18th July 2004 in York music shops followed by regional and national distribution.
