Now I can sleep at night.

I have oft layed awake on a strarry night wondering such things as how do they get the posters on the non platform walls of the tube station without touching the live rail? And what do athletes do if they need to go to the toilet when running a marathon?

well I now know the answer to that last one and will sleep easier.

Well, the dull answer to your first one is that they do it at night, with the power switched off. I'd like to be able to say that children on work experience are strapped to hover packs and have to time their forays, depending on time of the next train, but it would not be true.

When I was a kid I thought they just got Mr Tickle and his various long, wiggly armed relatives to do it. Please don't tell me I'm wrong.

no! they just roll the tube round like a barrel and stick them on upside down then roll it back into position to stop on the far wall... easy!
