I googled this just now because I know that Bristol has poetry slams and I am a have-a-go heroine. It was last week. To fit with National Poetry Day. I am up for it next year. 2014 bring it on!

I want to get to know Bristol better. It's completely different from anywhere else in the Southwest! I could make it for November 18 and I would stop over in the YHA that evening.

I went to a new writing group in Exmouth tonight. I knew one woman from another writing group in Exmouth, which is nice but which meets every 3rd Wednesday afternoon and I have not been able to fit it in since April. This lot are nice too and meet monthly so I plan to go to both groups when I can. Abctales is good and meeting other friendly writers face to face is even better.

We also dreamed up a good writing topic for next time. We write in our opposite gender and about a person whose behaviour is atypical for their gender. So I will be doing a piece on 'an unmanly man' and for the man in our group the topic will be 'an unwomanly woman'
