Will Young’s still around. I think those who see beyond being ‘a winner of a show’, and who don’t let it all go to their head, do have a chance of staying around in the music world for more than five minutes. Steve’s moves on stage were Will Youngish at times – they both seem to be nice, down-to-earth blokes, and their voices are pleasant on the ol’ eardrum! I just hope that Steve will have some NEW songs. Cover versions are, most of the time, blooming boring – and there are far too many of them around. I did actually hear Alex Parks’ album – one song (‘Dirty Pretty Words’) sounded like it could be an Alanis Morissette number in places, and I tended to like the songs that weren’t cover versions.

As I said on an earliar thread, many people in the know knew that Steve had won the thing last week. This is why Shazza got so upset. It was a fix (they all are, they have to be, its TV law). It's pure coincidence, of course, that the public voted over successive weeks precisely in line with the organisers intentions and picked Steve as winner, the person who was lined up for this crown at least five weeks ago. It was not FIXED. The public was not duped. When Karl told me I was "talking out of my arse" for saying this three weeks ago on the forums, he was absolutely correct. Everything that has happened since then has just been lucky coincidence and once again Karl is proved to be percipient, accurate and incredibly wise.

i watched this tonight, haven't been keeping track, but i want steve to win now...especially after sharon osborne was so mean to him big up the steve fellah and that g4, the blond guy is so going to stiff the others and go solo

I've never watched this programme until tonight, and then it was only at Er'ics prompting. It turns out that Steve is the new boyfriend of Eileen Hunter, a mutual friend of ours from Aberdeen - she had a few close-ups during tonight's broadcast. So I'm chuffed for Eileen, and I look forward to sharing a wee nip or two with Steve and her in Ma Cameron's pub afore lang, ye ken.

His girlfriend looked nice. Just a shame he laughed all the way through his great moment at the end. What a pro! Er - come back Michelle McManus, all is forgiven. Well, not all, but you know what I mean.
