Cherry or not to cherry?

I find the cherry system amazing in as much as it is so subjective. I have been with abc almost since the beginning and have had alot of work cherried.

I took most of it off a while ago as I was worried about entering competitions where you had to be unpublished.
But after some reasurring words from Diana and Emily decided to put some back and find that all except one have not been cherried.

It makes me wonder if the work (which is exactly the same) loses its character or quality with time and wonder if timing is the all important factor.

For a moment I thought perhaps it wasn't good enough but that was my insecurity raising it's ugly head, after all my work had been cherried once before. But does that mean perhaps it was a fluke.

Cherry or not to cherry that is the question?

Oooo! Is this a game? I like games. A fluke is something that occured but wasn't meant to be. Kind of like Disco! (It's also a type of high-pitched woodwind instrument)

I never understood why a flute was referred to as a 'woodwind' instrument when it's made of metal. Any explanations?

According to my roommate (who plays the trumpet) the flute was once made out of wood. (Hmm... it's a good thing the french horn was never made out of wood)

a kind of triangle, fish? I have read your work Donignacio. It made me laugh. According to a man I know (who plays the pink oboe) the flute may yet have it's second coming.

Jennifer.........my music teacher explained that the flute was a woodwind instrument as the reed is made of cane, however that was over thirty years ago and maybe it isn't anymore.

Thought I'd chip in on the instrument discussion. Flutes are made of either wood or metal, the best wooden ones are I believe, made from Ebony. The metal ones are made from brass and silver plated or the better ones from nickel-silver. I seem to remember the wooden ones are favoured by musicians wanting a warmer tone. Sorry to disagree with your music teacher Dave but flutes do not have a reed so his/her hypothesis is completely wrong. Reeded instruments have a reed made from bamboo

A glass flute?? Better not give me one of those; it wouldn't last very long. I've all ready almost broken my glass drum set.
