Yeah.. after I spotted this story.. I jus had to keep the ocean theme going man. I'am a sucker for anything to do with the sea.

It was really vivid, especially the first paragraph or so, I could almost feel the sand under my toes- well done!

I enjoyed this immensely! The idea that the smell of brine remained so strong on her that it came home was a marvelous detail. I didn't quite understand the separation, but perhaps I am not well-versed with the allusion.

It's taken me a while to get around to it but I've read this one now and agree it's a great story, very memorable. There are folk songs about the "selkie" but I have never seen it spelled that way, I thought it was just "silkie". I was particularly interested in the relationship between the psychiatrist and his wife, I thought she would have shown a bit more jealousy about his "special" relationship with this pretty young girl in her mid twenties. And a bit more suspicion if he kept coming home with her "special" smell. Great story though, deserving of one of funky's gold-plated Budwiesers or whatever they are.
