dressing gowns
I am still in my dressing gown. I just noticed for the first time that it is getting shabby. It's leopard skin fleece and the pile looks flattened with bobbles on, and the hem and belt has been chewed by my dog. Every morning when I come downstairs she pulls me along by it. Underneath I am wearing an orange t shirt which says 'love you jesus' and some red plaid pajama bottoms. I'm not going to describe my footwear in case some of you are feeling delicate after last night .
Is any one else still in their dressing gown?
I'm still in my dressing gown.... being very lazy today
my dressing gown has been stolen and worn by a teenager and i dont want it back now ...
i frequently dont get dressed but i wear some things which dont shout nightwear so if someone comes to the door it doesnt matter ...
Well i dont wear nightwear too often either... last night it was freezing, and i wore a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a baggy old chenille jumper... if someone had come to my door it wouldve been fine 'cos i live on a council estate and that outfit is de rigeur...
i think bedsocks define single womanhood ... i have a big huge pair of really thick warm walking boot socks ... (actually two unmatching ones from two different pairs) and when i wear them i absolutely revel in it ... they are just the antithesis of glamour or sexiness or anything else you might be wanting to share with anyone ... when i put them on i just sink into comfort and mundanity and its wonderful ...
Ha.. i wear fur lined wellies in bed...
Actually, no i dont. But i might..
it's odd really because i really cant abide a man getting into bed with me wearing socks ... it drives me demented ... i want to hurl things ... and yet getting into bed in my own socks is the height of glorious self indulgent comfort ...
so womansocks = good
mansocks = bad
come to think of it i cant stand a man in pj's either ...
I cant stand a man in skin
i suppose there comes a time ... maybe post 60? where it really doesnt matter who wears what and where when it comes to bedtime ...
Is that what you discovered Fish?
I have a fair way to go yet...
Still in my dressing gown.... ;)
beeeeeeeotch!!!!!
post 60? is that when you decided about the socks?
*smirks*
*sets fire to chenille jumper and old joggers*
now what will you wear to the post office???
Why, I will borrow your crimplene trousers Fish dear...
but you still have them from last time ... i let you keep them cos you liked them so much and they suited you SO much better ...
*settles into deckchair with tea and Xtra large packet of digestives*
*crosses fish off christmas card list*
*and hox*
*closes thermos, packs up deckchair*
i was in my dressing gown until about 11.00 this morning, i was in bed when when my mate, a mother of a 6 month old babe, rang to see what time we were heading around to see her... she rang at 8.45 AM!!!, said she had to get up early everyday now....not having kids, i can get up at any hour...*pleased*
and no socks in bed for this correspondent, no pjs, no pants, nothing on at all....
it's the only way, i'll continue in this fashion until i retire, or reach fish's age, whichever comes earlier...
btw, it's a blue towelling robe...
i do remember wearing slightly different robes, when i first met mrs21 and stayed over, my toilet trips were in a silky number, which barely covered my manly form...
i often met other overnight guests in pink dressing gowns, we would smile sheepishly as we passed eachother on the stairs...
I love my dressing gown - blue towelling, extra large so it goes right round me.
Youngest got given a giant baby-gro by her Granny a couple of years ago, at which she sneers. The fool - I'd love it. I have to make do with large Moroccan dress thing.
You can answer the door wearing anything at all here - it is Brighton - and no one turns a hair.
Funnily enough this morning I got an invite to a pajama party in a fortnight, so nightwear is even more on my mind.
I had to wear grey woolly socks last night , it was so cold. I wouldn't fancy sleeping with anyone wearing them though, unless they had wellies on top.
I had an ex who was a bit eccentric and when we went camping he got in bed wearing all his clothes as he didn't want them to get damp . (It did rain all night)
I remember suddenly seeing the funny side as he sat up talking in his sleeping bag wearing a corduroy jacket and a cravat.
I love my dressing gown, it thick & warm, unfortunately I don't get that much time to sob around in it.
As for crimpolene trousers, I had a brown pair, loved them to death.
LOL I'm always sobbing into my dressing gown
I have big thick hand-knitted Irish walking socks that I wear as slippers. My husband thinks they are sexy!
i think they might be if they are the only thing you wear..... ;-)
remarkable man, gail ... i think we should have him stuffed ...
*howls in pain*
i have one but i dont use it very often, only sometimes when iam goin in the shower. its pale purple
I'm still in my pyjamas have got dressing gowns but not to keen on them
also this has made me notice the time so must proceed quickly to the
shower...
liana keeps hers on all day apparently
hahaha.... freda you bag...
As a kid I built up a huge fantasy about those quilted dressing gowns. Finally I got one for christmas. I was in love with it but it sounds vile now. Bright purple and cloudy floral with a lemon nylon chiffon bow. Maybe the attraction was that they're so deadly - hogging the electric fire like I used to must have been flirting with death.
