I do love stories that are real and Jingle certainly brings vivid pictures of that era to mind. Written without undue sentiment, its a must read for everyone. I hope you are buiding a portfolio of memories, real life stories must be preserved.

Thanks for comments QueenElf. Glad you liked it. You will I am sure be pleased to know that I have corrected the spelling mistakes in the footnote....cant think how I missed them first time round. Oh yes, and facing the dragon this time round wasn't nearly so difficult. Still it was a long time ago.
It resonated with me as my mother and grandmother told me stories of thier life. My father was different, he kept a lot to himself. I nursed both my parents through the last months of thier lives, they both had strokes and couldn't speak. That's when I decided to keep the stories alive. Not all are posted here, I suppose I'm recording them for the sake of my daughter and grandson, my siblings rarely keep in touch, and I want my grandson to know that he came from a family who made the most of a bad life. Not all dragons are bad things.
