Another story to warm the heart; I loved how you moved from past to present tense.
I declined a visit to my infants school. I'd stopped and was peering over a padlocked gates. A sad sign of the times. Kid's were engrossed in their own private sad/funny/ entertaining world. I wished I'd gone in.
