Fey's "You. Me. Leaves"
I don't think this has been discussed before but it really should have been. (http://www.abctales.com/abcplex/viewStory.cgi?s=8975)
Was wandering around on ABC reading random bits and pieces and fey's poem "You. Me. Leaves" popped up. In my opinion this poem is the work of genius.....
"Sun is yellow snail shell fragile"
incredible start, so good
"my heart crossing
with a track of rainbows"
she pushes herself so well into the landscape
"crushing hush."
beautiful, love this a lot
"Longing to belong"
another great line
"just in silence swallowed."
love this too
"Mum used to say
they were witches' fruit this late;
I pick one,
am thorn hurt:
lick quickforming blood from my fingers,
wonder if I'll sleep forever."
this whole stanza is amazing, from the switch to personal reference, to "thorn hurt" and "lick quickforming"
"Next Spring new fruit will be set, ripen,
but I am unsexed
without you"
killer ending
this is seriously brilliant stuff
